I hate to think that I am a considered a Newbie at Yahoo. I have been doing the auctions for almost a year and I have really good feedback at other auction sites.
I have bought and sold at yahoo. I left feedback for the others but so far I have none left for me. This gives me a 0 rating, and people say "Oh no...another newbie" or worse yet they set their auctions up where I can't even bid because of my 0 rating.

When I first started at Yahoo I did the same thing, but then I concluded that I was only hurting serious buyers, ones that would pay, who only had a 0 rating just like me. So I changed my auctions so that anyone can bid on them.

I don't get many bids....I don't even get the page hits that I get at other auction sites, but the items I have sold I have got payment on so far. Although it is very slow in coming.

I think people that bid at Ebay, know that a neg is coming if they don't pay......but at Yahoo it just doesn't seem to be all that important to pay in a timely manner....if at all.

I have been lucky so far in the payment catergory, even though at times it takes a month and I have already given up on them ever sending it when I do get it. But at least I get it.

I just wish that buyers and sellers would leave feedback more often at Yahoo. I had one seller send a business card asking that I "please leave feedback" I did, but I have still to get any from her.

Sometimes people need a little encouragement to give a rating. As a bidder, I know that sellers often don't give ratings to me, either. One person I bought from sent me an e-mail after I won an auction thanking me for prompt payment, telling me the item had been shipped and informing me that I had "earned" a positive rating. This courtesy left a good impression of the seller and I, likewise, left a positive review. Anything more from the seller might of seemed pushy. Good luck....

Hey JWC
I'm in the same boat as you. But I got a 1 (hehe) I've got over 200 combining all my auction houses but at Yahoo only 1....
I started in July but just recently came back. I can't beleive the page veiws I'm getting (alas no bids) but atleast someone is looking. I put in my description that I'm also a member at Ebay, Amazon, & Golds. Maybe it will help.

Yahoo gives you the opportunity to import your feedback from some of the other auction sites. While I know it is against eBay/s user agreement to import your feedback to another site, I am unfamiliar with any of the other site's rules. Perhaps if you have feedback at Amazon, Gold's, etc. you could import it to Yahoo (if it is not against their user agreements).

Dixiebee,

How do you go about importing feedback from another site to Yahoo? Thanks!

Thanks for the info Dixiebee
I think I'll just do it the old fashion way and earn it.

However it doesn't seem to be stopping sales. Doing ok.
