According to the geeks at Yoo-hoo, one of the motives for this fee thing is to help reduce the "junk" postings and get it down to the serious stuff.

Why? Fee's haven't kept the junk and trinket posters from swamping eBay?

Sound like just an excuse to me to make bucks, and a bad move to do it with. They should have started with just charging a percentage of the closing sale.

One person's trash is another person's treasure. So I don't care who sells what or where they try to sell it.

I agree with you on the fees. I could have lived with closing fees on successful auctions, but not listing fees. It is to hard to sell anything at all on Yahoo! much less pay for trying.

Rebel - YOU ARE EXACTLY CORRECT - I would have been happy to pay a sale fee, but not a listing fee. I think Yahoo fouled up here.

I'm with the rest of you - the fees to list (but not sell) are killers. It's the main reason I tried some auctions on Yahoo from eBay. I've had whole pages of auctions go unbid at eBay, move them to Yahoo and many of them would sell. It seems the opposite of what so many others have experienced.

Now, with Yahoo charging listing fees, I can't chance the non-sales. I can't keep reducing what little profit margin I am trying to maintain any further. I can't even write them off as cheap advertisement to a website because I don't have one (yet).

Gosh, my mind is spinning trying to determine where I go from here but I'll be gosh darned (being nice here) if I'm giving up! Onward and upward!!!
