I've been thinking about Yahoo for months, and just don't get it. It SHOULD work, even with listing fees. I think the unanswered question is why people don't bid and buy on the site, which would make it profitable to list there, even with fees.

When I try to shop there, myself, I really don't have a problem with the order of listings. Usually my search results give me a page of easy-to-scan possibilities. But I don't find anything there to bid on. For example, I need some snow boots for my son. I found several possibilities on ebay, but nothing desirable on Yahoo. Maybe it's because all the "good stuff" is snapped up right away, I don't know. I just know I'm not buying.

Same with legos. I bought a ton on ebay last year, but every time I tried on Yahoo, the sets were priced too high to entice my bid, or I didn't see the selection I wanted.

I was hoping to devote more time to listing my books on Yahoo this year, to see if I could learn what sells and what doesn't. I've sold a number of things, but my listings have been non-systematic, so I am not prepared to pay fees right now because I don't know what is a good risk.

It SHOULD be able to work. I just can't figure out why it doesn't.

For many of us it has worked, and fantastically well, but unlike eBay, many items do take a relist or two - but if you are running enough auctions, it doesn't matter. BUT now, with fees to list, it is a whole different matter.

We have sold exceedingly well on Yahoo, but have to do relists very often, with fees this will quickly become too costly, but am considering a Yahoo Merchant account- depending on how this shake up/shake out resolves itself.

If we are going to pay fees, then yahoo
should do something to entice bidders to the site.
This should help advertising revenues.

What to do, what to do??
Not a yahoo type genius, am I??
I'm sure they can come up w/some irrational
promos.
