I am confused. Hope someone here knows the answer. I understood that any auctions we already have on Yahoo that will automatically relist after the 10th will not be charged for. Then last night I read that we will be charged for the auto relists. Could someone tell me which is correct. If we are going to be charged for them I need to delete all my auctions before the 10th. Also does the 10th mean 12:01AM on the 10th or 11:59 PM on the 10th. Thanks

I received this answer in an email from Yahoo.

Please know that you will not be charged for any auto-relisted items if
the original item was submitted before January 10th. If your auction
was
posted on or after January 10th, you will be charged the normal fee for
your auction for each time it is relisted.

For example, if you post your auction on January 9th and have it
scheduled to automatically relist two times, you will not be charged
for
these auctions.

If you post your auction on or after January 10th and have it scheduled
to automatically relist two times, you will be charged for a total of
three auctions, assuming the auction closes without a winner. Please
notice that listing fees are applied when the auction is posted, and
will not be refunded regardless of the outcome of the auction....

End of email

IMO, I would think the fee charges begin at 12 A.M. 1-10-01. In other words, don't list anything after 11:59 P.M. 1-9-01.

Hope this helps.

Packer113 - Thanks for the info. Another question. I had a bunch of auctions that ended without bids and came up for a manual re-submit. Are those considered new auctions that can be resubmitted with 2 relists for no charge? Thanks. I am concerned about this - I can imagine getting a surprise bill for auctions because I either didn't read the info correctly or misunderstood it.

You know I was thinking about this last night. With Yahoo software only working correctly 75% of the time how do we know their billing software is going to be working correctly? I have a feeling that there will be people billed for the relists before the 10th and with the lack of customer support there won't be much we can do aboout it. I haven't decide yet for myself wether or not to let the relists run the course or not.

Packer111 - sorry I got your name wrong on my last post

traceyg - I am really concerned also. Maybe I should just delete all my auctions before the 10th to be sure I don't amass a bunch of fees. I feel like we need a guarantee that won't happen but where and from whom do we get that.

Make a statement. Close those auctions. If Yahoo comes to their senses you can always resubmit them. But the more auctions that are closed before the 10th, the more they will feel the impact that we are serious about leaving. Mass listing right now just encourages them to believe that the sellers are just blowing smoke and won't go anywhere. Also, the less the auctions there are running the more buyers are going to be wondering and asking questions. Where did all the sellers go?

And I know I am not going to trust them. They have done nothing to show that they are trustworthy so I wouldn't take any chances. Get your money, etc out of there. You can always go back but if they fold you won't get it back. You can't get an answer now, don't think you will get any help after the fact. I filed for the credits for my eBay feedback awhile back and they swear they gave me half of them but can't find them anywhere on my account. Credit cards didn't stop deadbeat bidders. Not a good track record.

If the original listing of the item was before the 10th then they won't and can't charge you fees for it. For them to charge you you would have to specifically click to agree to that fee being charged.

The database coding in the free listing is different than the paid the fee items.

You gotta give Yahoo some credit for advanced technology...........

It could be worse.......Ebay crashed for 13 hours the other day lol with frequent mini crashes weekly......I have yet to see Yahoo Have one except for when they upgraded the servers for Yahoo clubs but you got advanced notice on that one anyways. In addition to the thursday morning Ebay maintenance shut downs.....Yahoo as a system is quite more streamline and stable.
