I can get into my auctions - but get this - the most current bid DISAPPEARED! This has happened to me before - and all I get when I email is -"how to bid successfully" - their ans's NEVER make any sense! I was checking my bids and was pleased that someone who asked a ? on this item went and bid ---(hopefully this will serve as proof) When you get to your auctions (guess they are down in some parts, I'm in CA) what's to say your bids aren't GONE-------I think their whole system was made up in a day care center! Lousy search, lousy method on NOT being able to contact bidder, lousy EDIT system- Perhaps since it is free- they used Highschool kids to design it- It's a shame- they SHOULD be the Creme de la Creme since we're all here wanting it to be a success.......c'est la vie!

The news story I just read on AOL news said that Yahoo was down yesterday for three hours because of a hacker. At least Yahoo admits it- eGREED (ebay) just covers it up.

It was on the 6pmnews that 52 hackers got together in unison and jammed the whole Yahoo site. This is getting obnoxious. Is it a federal offense? If not it should be. Guess the FBI is working on it. Seems to me if a hacker can cripple something this big - won't be long before they can take over the world.....dangerous creeps!

The IDIOT hackers hit Yahoo! on Monday and eGREED, Amazon.com, buy.com, and several other sites on Tuesday.

It is a Federal crime already.

San Francisco, Feb. 9 (Bloomberg) -- The Web sites of Amazon.com Inc., eBay Inc., Buy.com Inc. and CNN.com were shut down temporarily by hackers, a day after Yahoo! Inc.'s search directory crashed amid a flood of online inquiries.

Amazon.com, the biggest Internet retailer, said its site was affected for about an hour. EBay, the No. 1 online auctioneer, said its problems lasted about five hours

and it continues today:

(Associated Press)
WASHINGTON (AP) - Internet vandals today continued an unprecedented campaign of electronic assaults against the biggest names in cyberspace, disrupting access for consumers to the some of the Web's most popular sites.

The ETrade online brokerage said today its Web site was attacked, but ``customer accounts were never compromised,'' spokesman Patrick DiChiro said. Fewer than one-fifth its customers were affected by the clogged traffic for about 90 minutes before the company blunted the attack, he said.

ZDNet.Com, a popular news site that covers technology, said its Web site was shut down for two hours early today and also ``appeared to have been the target of a denial-of-service attack.''

Yup its a Federal crime but so what. If they ever catch the idiots who did it, what are they going to do. Spank him, don't you think its a little too late for that?. All he needs is a good lawyer & he might even have a chance to sue the FBI for catching him. He might say 'Its my right to hack since I am an Idiot'. And if they do manage to ship him to jail, he gets free HBO & 3 square meals a day. Not a bad deal for a dead beat when you think about it.
