Posted an initial set of eight auctions to AuXPal www.auxpal.com late last night.
This site now has some 82,600 listed items. The downside is that its just a tiny 2.75% fraction of what Yahoo!Auctions has. The upside is that after Yahoo!Auctions loses half their own listings in coming weeks, AuXpal will surge to 5.50%! WOW!!
Any comments on AuXpal?

Looked at AuXpal and it has potential. However, I have refused to upgrade my PayPal account (Protest to the way they handled their situation) and so I couldn't sell there very effectively as the only payment method available is PayPal. If they allowed other payment, it looked like a site that could take the place of Yahoo. User friendly, cheerful, etc

My auctions list ExchangePath (preferred), Yahoo!PayDirect (preferred) and PayPal (from cash balances only please) in the description.
AuXpal is not affiliated with PayPal, so I don't see that there would be any concern with how a buyer paid.

Go look at the front page of AuXPal. An auction for PayPal Members. I went there and tried to list an auction and it says PayPal the only form of payment available at this time.

Yes, initially AuXpal envisioned buyers providing their PayPal ids/passwords and having the transactions completed automatically at auction's end.
That idea didn't last more than a day or two, AuXpal no longer requires PayPal ids/passwords and should really remove references to that online payment service.

Thanks so much!
I just listed my first couple of free auctions in AuxPal.
I like PayPal, and if folks will buy there, that will be great!

dimview: You let me know the minute PayPal makes it so I can except Cash and Money Orders and I will list all 1000 auctions on that site. I sell to "little old ladies" who don't have, use or trust credit cards and I can't make that a rule as it was one of my biggest peeves with Yahoo. It didn't control the deadbeat bidders but it did drive off a lot of my favorite buyers. I want a site where my favorite buyers can BUY!!!!! And if AuXpal becomes that site I would use it in a minute. I will email them and let them know also!!!!!!!

I have a question about PayPal and maybe one of you all can help me with it. If I upgrade my account do they charge for every transaction or just the charges on cards? On my personal account the charges are the only thing that counts against my limit. The transfers are free. Is it the same in the upgraded accounts?

LIST! LIST! LIST!
The user agreement http://www.auxpal.com/reg/user_agreement.cfm does not require PayPal only payments.
LIST! LIST! LIST!

When you listed your auctions did that show as the only option? How would my buyers know that I except cash and money orders?

My "template" includes title, description of item, image of item, then terms of auctions that includes all acceptable forms of payment (cash, checks, money orders, ExchangePath, Yahoo!PayDirect and PayPal).
I just ignored the PayPal "only" thing that AuXpal inserts on all the listings.
edited for typos.

Unfortunately PayPal charges for ALL transactions where you receive payment when you upgrade. One thing that sucks about that is that they stated primary reasons for the charges being the increased cost of credit card transactions but they charge the same amt no matter where the money comes from!

AuxPal.
It appears that you can use other payment methods.
Instructions tell you to describe payment methods in the very generous ads area provided for your auction.
On the ads that I have listed so far, I include a link to a special webpage - called Shipping information - that covers all types of payment methods that I accept.
I list PayPal as preferred, along with PayDirect, BidPay & Amazon 1-click when available. I also list check & money orders.
Thanks again dimview...

Thanks for all the information!!!! I am off to sign up for my account at AuXpal and see what sort of damage I can do. I will then be creating some more protest auctions with the information regarding where I have gone. Hope to see many of you there.

I'm not at all impressed with AuxPal. They got off to a bad start by asking members to violate PayPal's TOS. The listing numbers are deceptive. I haven't looked lately but 90% of the listings were by the same member.
They haven't proved that they are capable of running a legitimate contender, so I'll wait for a while before I sign with them...

Most of the listing are no longer from the same seller the books catagory has a ton by the same seller from PA .
AUxpal no longer is only for paypal users and hasnt been since the frist week they started the site I have been fallowing the site and it always has many bids in the heavy listed catagorys.
only three catagories are heavily used so its had to get an Idea of how bidding might be in them books movies and beanies and video games are moveing very well there right now.
