I need some advice here as I am a little steamed. (A non-fee related topic BTW). Sold an item which closed on 12/18. No payment received YET. Contacted winning bidder, he said send the amount needed. Did that. Then he said, send me your address. OK, did that. Nothing. Yesterday, I sent him a "final notice" with a PayDirect request saying it's been nearly 4 weeks and nothing received. Now I get this EMAIL:
"Keep it in your pants buddy, I'll have the money sent out as soon as I can,
I don't think you need the thirteen bucks THAT much. I just got your address
a week ago and the price today."
Grrrrrr.....This is exactly the kind of lazy, punk deadbeat bidder response I expected from this person. I would like to just write back and say exactly that, and just NEG him. What do you think? Too premature? I don't need this 'tude regarding MY selling practices.

You would be just as well off to wait you really dont want to agravate a hostle buyer no more then they already are and you can not reason with an agry person usually at all so getting mad will only make them more hostle.
What I do with buyer like this is wait them out No payment or word from them in 4 weeks I quietly relist the Item after it resells I neg the original buyer give the new buyer who paid a positive feed back.
so long as you dont remove this bid and make a new copy of the listing you can neg this person any time in the future after the smoke has cleared if they give you any more trouble if they never send payment and go anyway quietly you can just for get them.

petpost-- respecting your own business sense for sure, but it sounded as if there was a lapse between the info ---like price, shipping and then the address?
Don't you have a "ready made" email to just fill in the blanks with all the above and email it to bidder?
I send the confirmation email with all data, if no reply in 4 days, I forward the first one and name it SECOND NOTICE - and go from there......
I agree with the above reply---wait this turkey out. Sounds like he's spoiling for a reason not to pay!

He 'bought' something from me-I'd bet on it. Almost the same message when I sent reminder, claimed it was mailed, haven't seen it yet. Sounds like a regular thing. I just relisted and forgot about him, it's not worth the blood pressure!

petpost, I list all my info in my auction and then reiterate it in my email to the buyer. For example: winner agrees to respond to email within 48 hours, payment must be received within 10 days of auction close etc. then when I email them that they have won my auction, I ask for the shipping name and address and payment info. If i dont hear from them in 48 hours I resend the first with a note asking if there is a problem.
That usually does it but the key thing I think is to list your requirements in your auction. Then there is no question as to what you will accept. for now, you might ask this person via email when he expects to have payment to you and by what method: Paydirect, money order or whatever and see what he says.
