Does anyone know if Yahoo will be charging fees on their Yahoo PayDirect in the future? That will be worst. Maybe that is what they're planning to do afterwards since they already impose the listing fees.

I haven't heard anything about the fees but I would imagine that is too be expected. I tried to get a payment through my account today (it has been working since they started it). Had to completely resign up. I don't know if not having any current auctions created the problem or what. The rest of my account (email, feedback) is still there but PayDirect was gone.

Two buyers tried to use PayDirect today, and their charges went through but NEVER MADE IT TO MY ACCOUNT. I hate to tell Yahoo this, but there's NO WAY I'm going to keep my account if they charge fees with problems like this. I'm ready to close it down NOW, while it's still free, because of all the hassles it's caused.

I like PayDirect and would like to keep using it. Guess it would depend on how the come up with the charges, if they do. A per transaction charge would be OK(percentage of transaction), a monthly charge would not.
Hope they keep it free for a very long time!!!! That would suit me best

I never liked PayDirect (because my customers seemed to have constant problems remembering to put in the shipping, something my PayPal customers never encounter), but was willing to take it, till I discovered that when Yahoo gets upset with a seller, they close their PayDirect account also. This taught me to never have an account that was inter-related with an auction. Obviously, I would not pay for such a service.

With PayPal I have a business account, and have never had a problem with PayPal, they have always been professional in their records and their dealings.

I have never had problems with Paypal either.

Yesterday I received my first sale using PayDirect. The email from Yahoo indicated the transaction was made. I went to PayDirect and it showed my account was empty! Today I clicked on the link in the email I received from PaydDirect and the transaction did appear. I clicked on the accept button and got an error message something like, "you are not the person authorized to receive the money". How do I get the money? My first encounter with PayDirect stinks!

do you know if the sender may have used identity confirmation? Or, do you have another yahoo account, maybe you're logged on a different user id. double check and then try it again.

I do believe that they are going to start charging for PayDirect. They are doing what PayPal did - trying to get it integrated and then as soon as people start using it start charging. The only question is who they are going to charge the person sending or the person receiving. I think it will probably be the person sending, but who knows with them maybe they will try charging both to make up for the lost revenues from auctions.

I never set up ads for automatic payments. There are many reasons but one of them is that if you send them a Yahoo Pay Direct "bill" and they pay you by paying the bill, you get 1 entry in the contest. If they pay you without a request, then they get the entry instead.

Getting a bill pisses a lot of people off so I put this in the message window with all of them,
"If you want to use Yahoo Pay Direct, this should make it easy for you. Don't think of this as a real "bill". It's just one option for making payment.
If you haven't done so already, don't forget to send me your shipping address. Thanks"

Thqat puts them at ease but has no effect on getting them to email me their shipping address even though they also get an email from me which shouts at them in the 1st sentence:
"Thanks for bidding. Please confirm your bid by sending
me an email right now WITH YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS."

Right now I have 3 packages, paid for, wrapped and ready to take to the PO but I have no idea where to send them. I think the one guy only looks at his email once a week so when he wonders what happened to his widget, he'll get back to me.

Anyway, My "pending" folder for Pay Direct had several hunderd unpaid "bills" because they either paid another way or stiffed me, so I cleared out the ones from last year. i had to do it one by one, but that was the easy part. The hard part was answering all the emails from panic stricken customers. It seems the yahoobot generates an email when you cancel an unpaid bill, and that really confuses John Q. Public. So let the pending folder grow to the sky. Leave it be and all will be well.
