There are some very great people here on these boards who are contributing/analyzing/questioning this whole auction dilemma and KUDOS to them all! Thank you for your efforts~
In my auction experience, the MAIN focus should always be the bidders. How much if any emphasis does any seller or bidder rely on "universal search" It would appear that it would be the only salvation to these sites that INSIST they make changes, raise prices, take away familiar/working features, etc ...for the "increase of quality" to the particular site.
I believe we should be promoting the "universal search" (and not any particular service), to our bidders, because a goodly percentage of bidders/searchers will find items on ALL sites - which affords us MULTIPLE auctions..... (No- am not affiliated with any of these services)
We need to spread our items to more auction sites....
We all are in agreement (I believe) that New and Improved is a national joke to merchants and buyers alike! It is a camoflauged effort to INCREASE prices. Auctions are a merchant driven business --- they are making a HUGE mistake by keeping us in constant turmoil-change-gauging-hostile situation!
The bottom line here is, that ALL sellers are feeling like scattered debris from all this tampering with our business structure. It is TIME to react in an orderly manner------- Yahoo and other auction sites, MUST get the message of our displeasure, but these boards are not effectively doing that.
We desperately need to inform the bidders of our plight. 99% of them do NOT know the struggle we are experiencing. I for one, will be placing invitations on my ebay and yahoo (if I list anything at all)for bidders to become INVOLVED-- and to come read/chat/explore the current situation on various boards available to them.
If we ALL (and tell a friend) do just that - only then, can we expect to have an effective voice regarding our auctions. For example, telling bidders on your listings "Higher START PRICES are a result of increasingly expensive LISTING & RESERVE FEES--"
We all seem to be hollering alone in the forest and nobody hears us-- let's all try to change it--- invite bidders to participate in our need for auction fairness and stability - by either coming to specific boards- or to voice their seller support to the auction sites.
I'm sure there will be many suggestions on the above --- and welcome them....
