Yahoo’s Fatal Mistake
MAJOR MISTAKE– Yahoo Auction Division of decision makers, with their lack of auction understanding, concluded to institute listing prices at Yahoo instead of FVF or any other form of charging. They realized it would upset the sellers, and they probably realized there would be some rebellion. But, they had seen sellers rebel when eBay makes changes, and at eBay, it was basically all talk, and the sellers/buyers didn’t go anywhere. [B]WHAT YAHOO FAILED TO CALCULATE IS, BASICALLY AN EBAY SELLER HAS NO CHOICE – THERE IS NO PLACE TO RUN FOR THE EBAY SELLER, THAT WILL CONSISTENTLY PRODUCE AS EBAY DOES.
Yahoo “ain’t” eBay! When Yahoo has tried to pull the same stunts that eBay does, I believe they will find that their sellers can still add, and that in actuality because of the major difference in how these 2 auctions produce, Yahoo fees actually exceed eBay’s, since very often one has to relist one or more times on Yahoo to sell even top of the line items. Therefore, Yahoo sellers have a choice the eBay seller never has, and that is to run to a better sales arena. Why pay more to get less bids, less views, and less sales?
IN PLAIN ENGLISH, YAHOO DIDN'T REALIZE THAT UNLIKE EBAY, THERE ARE PLACES FOR THE YAHOO SELLER TO RUN TO! AND FROM THE FIGURES I SEE, THEY ARE RUNNING FAST!

I really wish someone from Yahooooo would respond to these opinions here on AW. I tend to agree with you, but I am STILL having difficulty believing that Yahooooo management can be that ignorant.
If they did respond the only thing you would get is the same canned, automated responses that were given in their "special chat" sessions, or via their "Customer Service" e-mails.
Sort of like trying to talk to a JW that shows up at your door. Regardless of what you say to them, they respond with their memorized response. If you get beyond what they are programed to answer they get frustrated and leave - or go right back to replaying the same old record!

You're probably right.
I guess we can always hope that a disgruntled member of Yahooooo's upper management creates an alias and comes here to talk to us about the "real" reasoning behind their decision to institute listing fees.
They have committed suicide and I am curious to know why.
It would have been easier and more respectful to their members if they simply told us that their auction site wasn't working out the way they (and their shareholders) wanted it to, and that they were going to shut it down.
The way it is now, the name Yahoooooo puts a foul taste in my mouth. This is affecting my thoughts on all of the other great Yahooooo services (news, etc.) that I USED to access regularily.
(edited for a misplaced participle, or something like that ...)

Talking about canned reply, I got a canned email from Yahoo, I reponded to CS, they resent the identical canned letter, then I emailed back, and got the same canned letter a third time. So much for better customer service.
