Is anyone else having a problem with the pictures only feature on Yahoo? I have been running smooth until about 2 weeks ago. I noticed some of my auctions (even Featured)vanished without a trace in the "show pictures only" mode. I'm not talking about a box with a red x, I'm talking about JUST NOT THERE! It happens in my booth too. I have contacted Yahoo several times and get the same generic "change your image size" message. Doesn't help. Besides that it only occurs on some of the listings and it is consistant to those auctions. If you go by listings the pictures render just fine. Any clues or suggestions?

I forgot to mention that I am launching my auctions directly from the Yahoo site, so I know it's not a cut & paste problem, or a misplaced URL or a problem generated from AW or any other site. Thanks!

sulyn1950 - I was hoping someone would answer you, I am having the same problem and am also baffled.

I generally do not us auction posting software, but gave Auction Rover a try for a spell. I later realized that if I did not use Yahoo to upload pics, I might not get the camera icon on my auctions. I stopped using the posting software, but have not concluded that this is what caused the problem. I just haven't had a chance to explore which of my auctions pics are affected, but it seems to be about 10%. Posting this in case it gives a clue.

I am glad to see I am not alone! I have made numereous request for help to Yahoo Customer Service, but I only get back generic replys-"Resize you photos" or "check your browser" or "we are unable to duplicate problem, check settings". Of course I've done all this and still no luck. I thought maybe it WAS just me so I had friends from all over the country go to my booth and see what happened. All of them got the same results--In the SHOW PHOTOS feature, my pictures do not show up. In the regular listings they do. Since most buyers shop by pictures only, this is a major problem. My auctions have just died! I also pay to be featured on some of my items and because they don't show up in SHOW PICTURES I'm just out the bucks!! Maybe others will start checking to see if they have a problem and if enough contact Yahoo maybe they will realize they do have a problem. I'm small time, what if their big listers have the same problem?

If you up load photos directly to yahoo you will get the tumb nails in view photos only areas in yahoo if you link to them from outside yahoo your picture is fine in the ad but there will be no thumb nails.

this is the way it has always been I just posted andup loaded 5 more photo and ads from yahoo and got tumbnials for all.

if you use a aution tools like auction rover auction assitant you may wont even get the camera Icon
I do know this upload the frist picture to yahoo all will work with icons and tumb nails though I will tell you I use AW to luanch auctions and find I get as many views and bid with or with out the tumb nail veiws

This isnt really a problem with yahoo its how its always worked they provide 1 meg of space per listing for photos .

Hopefully now that auction managers are getting more popular they will change this for use all

dman3, thanks for the clarification, but I gotta disagree about the thumbnails not being so important. We have a cable hook-up, so a page of pics loads very fast and I browse using the pic only option almost exclusively. More and more people get fast access all the time and before long it will be critical to have the thumbnail, (or on ebay, be in the gallery) to sell.

Of course a search will pull it all up, and then I hit "pics only" so I can shop quickly, not clicking on anything that does not draw me in further. Those auctions without pictures were disqualified right out of the gate. When you put your mouse over the thumbnail, you can read the title and this makes shopping a breeze.

I have never used a photo hosting site for my Yahoo auctions. I upload my pics directly to the Yahoo site. I have also noticed that since I've been having this problem, my auctions with the VANISHED PHOTOS are getting very little traffic. I believe many people use the SHOW PHOTO over the LISTINGS to do their looking. That's why I need to figure out where the problem is and get it fixed. Thanks for your imput though, I really appreciate your help.

I don't use any kind of auction assist programs either. Just load the pics, type the description and submit them one auction at a time. I don't even use their bulk loader! I'm still a newbie and have a lot to learn, but this is really beginning to bug me.
