The last of my auctions closed around Feb. 10, but just a few hours before they were to close, Yahoo deleted a whole bunch of them claiming they violated TOS. They sent a warning letter saying if I did this again that they'd kick me off. They were auctions of ballcards. The only thing that I saw upon looking over my auctions that they kicked was where I stated that I was leaving Yahoo due to their listing fees and I gave an example of how much the listing fees cost. My example stated that listing fees was a minimum of $200 per thousand auctions listed. If Yahell is so confident of its new policies, why would it be so threatened??

auctionqueenie,

Yahoo!Auctions behavior is more akin to a mad dog that's been backed into a corner.

Yahoo!Auctions is little more than a shadow of what it was a month ago, and the spin-doctoring that's been taking place during the collapse isn't even effective these days.

So I'd imagine the frustration levels are quite high. Maybe they're even entertaining thoughts that they'll become the next DOT BOMB.

Is it any wonder? Blodgett = Priceline.com = YaWhoo

I would be a little worried!

Well it's not like we didn't try to tell them from the start.

And speaking of telling, BidVille keeps implementing more and more requests from sellers! Looking better everyday.

Yahoo just did the same thing to me. I have run the exact auctions on there for about 4 months with no problem. They are in the proper areas, no TOS violations that I could see. They cancelled the auctions, and my account and they have my money in my paydirect account. I have written back asking what the violations were, and all I get is the same old s##t, canned responses that tell me nothing.
Why now, after all this time do they decide to cancel? Who knows, they have lost their minds.
They have no right to keep the money in the paydirect account, listing fees and credits, yes, they can keep those, I understand the rules for that one, but nobody is going to steal the money I made in my paydirect account.
Let me know if this has happened to anyone else? Did you get it solved?
Thanx for any info

A word to the wise from someone who's been there: once you have had auctions ended by Yahoo for "TOS violations" for the first time I recommend making contingency plans should a 2nd violation occur. By this I mean if yahoo is your primary email address you might want to reconsider. I had auctions ended in Oct by Yahoo for the infamous TOS violations (they never answered what specific rules I violated so I was left guessing) and in Jan I had my 2nd violation and instantaneously my ENTIRE Yahoo account was Terminated - email, Pay Direct account, auction account, EVERYTHING permanently closed. Since my yahoo was my primary email account I was left scrambling as I had 3 years worth of saved emails from customers plus my address book etc. - I'll probably never totally recover.

auctionqueenie,
I had a similar message on my auctions and I did not get any deleeted. I did receive a couple of warning emails from Yahoo, But they were so vague, that they could have been for something else.
I have heard of others who were booted for no apparent reason.
It is my belief that yahoo still cannot get there act together, but wanted to make a show of cracking down. The simplest way to do that is to randomly, shut some people and accounts down, and randomly send some warnings and delete some auctions. This can easily be done because they do not have to tell you what TOS guideline was violated. They can simply cite "TOS" and WHAM! no appeal, no explanation.
While I have seen some people say that most of those that got canned had to realize what it was for, I think if you looked, really looked at almost any of the auctions posted on Yahoo, you could find TOS violations if you really wanted to, and many of these way before fees were ever announced.
These actions by Yahoo are simply a laughable attempt to show that they have upgraded their site policing when they probably did nothing more than pick some items at random. At best, it was done by robot, like their CS, without benefit of a reasoning mind.

fbongio1, I just saw your post asking about PayDirect. When my account was terminated I called Yahoo and specifically asked about my PayDirect account. I was told that should any funds still be in the PayDirect account they would be credited back to the credit card that was on file. As it was I had a zero balance so it didn't actually effect me, but that's what I was told. Good Luck getting your money back!

I had my name your_sidekick kicked off of yahoo because I rated a seller bad and called her a thief. She "sold" me a little girl's outfit. She cashed my check back in August and claimed she shipped my merchandise right out, but I have yet to receive it. I lost everything in the yahoo e-mail account, my entire website (which was my organization website to help battered women and children), everything. By their rules I wasn't permitted to sign back up again, but I had my credit card # changed and got back on. I filed mailfraud charges against her, but the post office wouldn't do anything. The big thing I was out of was my website which I'd spent years working on, collecting hotline numbers and other information to help women escape their abusers along with contact info for myself and other members of the organization. We'd have many women contact us through this website and we'd help relocate them to another state to rebuild their lives apart from the abuser. There were lots of personal stories added to the site from survivors of violence, many who'd done so with our help. Yahoo didn't care.

Yet, yahoo allows numerous messages in the yahoo euchre message boards with my name and (now former) address saying someone needed to blow my brains out. I've had some people from an online gaming site stalking me for over a year now, threatening my life and my daughter's and making my life hell. Yahoo refuses to do anything to someone like that, but for someone who's trying to have their rights protected, they kick off. Where is the sense in that?

btw, when they kicked my other name off, they went through and kicked off every other yahoo id I had listed at that primary address. They even kicked off some friend's ids that they signed up on my isp addy because they didn't have another email account.

As yahoo online gamers say every time the game server goes down, "yahell at it's finest."

I think they have every right to shut down an auction that degrades their site just because the seller doesn't like the fees.

I am sure Bidville would be happy to have you talk bad about them, WHEN they start charging fees.

Ballsandstrikes, found yourself a new logo did you?

Twelvepole, would you care to explain your comment towards me? I know you would not attempt to say I would have any use for a Nazi symbol right? That would fall under grounds of a personal attack which I as having family members who died in concentration camps would take HIGH offense to. Since I know that is not what you meant, please explain. When I get home tommorow, I will look forward to reading it.

Yahoo couldn't blitz its way out of a paperbag. No swastika for them. Besides, if they used the swastika, they'd have to ban themselves, or join one of the Nazi clubs they host.

My family on my dad's side had hundreds of relatives killed in the Halocaust. The family that was here in the U.S. had some family in the war and they had to go into the concentration camps and take pictures of the bodies.

I have had a friend who had the same experience - she went back on under another ID, and sap closed again on TOS. She did get her funds back from the PayDirect Account, but what this taught me is:

1. Never use a payment system connected with an auction

2. Never use an auction system's mail address as your primary

3. Just good advice regardless of what mail system one uses, ALWAYS have it backed up. I have my Outlook Express crash, and only because my husband is VERY computer savy, and spent 5 hours (paid) with Microsoft, did they finally recover the crashed file - only 1 month of the 3 years of info was lost, but it was costly. We immediately invested in a zip drive for backing up these files....a lot less expensive in the long run.

You said it perfectly when you said:

"Yahoo!Auctions behavior is more akin to a mad dog that's been backed into a corner. "

When you answer my question then I can give you an answer otherwise it's hard to comment on something I am unsure about. That's why I asked the question.
From your own post it appears YOU are replacing the Yahoo Logo with a swastika (correct spelling)
If you DID have family members die in concentration camps I am very surprised you would even toss around such an heinous logo idea.

But while we are on that subject everytime some person compares somthing to Hitler or the Swastika or Nazism I think it degrades the whole Holocoust, that was very real and comparing anything about auction selling to it makes it all seem a little less significant. Those comaprisons should be saved for things like Cambodia or Bosnia, not some little auction site or very small auction seller.

Twelvepole I will not engage in word twisting with you. You are right, yahoo has become a small auction site but there are no such thing as "small auction sellers" whether they list 5 items of 500 . If you can come up with a better name for an organization who sits in their portapottie offices in effect shooting/zapping people (or at least their ID's) for no reason because they have the ego and power, I would like to hear it. Otherwise, I would appreciate in the future if you stick to the topic and not my choice of words. I do not engage in childish message board flame wars. Not claiming you were trying to start one just your post could be taken many ways and since you chose to question my words, I ask that you be more careful with yours.
Nuff said.

Thanx for all of your help. Its really amazing what Yahoo can do and get away with it! Thank god I didnt have an email account with them. Its a shame, I always had good luck with them.
I have the phone number I need, but I just had surgery and dont feel like getting aggrevated right now, lol. Ill call them in the morning, maybe they will transfer the money to my card.
I wont ever come back to them, not the way they treat sellers, dont they realize that the sellers are the ones that made them, lol?
Good luck to all of you

Good Luck to you Bonnie. They don't care. They are trying to satisfy the stockholders who know nothing about the auction business.

Yahoo has been making numerous charges to my credit card. I have no idea what for, but I haven't submitted items since the listing fees went into effect. So far there is a charge for $35 and some others for a little less than $20. Anyone else have this happen??

After reading all of this, I am glad that I have never used any of the online pay services.

I was weary enough when I had to give Yahoo!dlums my CC#, but I did anyway. But I have heard many horror stories from people regarding PayPal.

No one outside of the US received the $5 that they promised. To add insult to injury, they charge ridiculous fees to non-US users (like me) for their 'free' service.

Besides, one day the laws could change regarding online selling and everyone could end up getting charged taxes on their auction sales. What better way to track how much people have sold then by spying in your PayPal account??

BB is watching...

Yahoo doesn't know my banking info. it's a separate credit card.

I've been trying to get in touch with yahoo, but I just keep getting form letters. The first one was in December.

So far I'm just disputing it with my credit card company.

I just recieved a note from them telling me that my balance was applied to my credit card. Its funny how I recieved a response to all of my letters because I yelled and called them morons and they didnt know what they were doing, lol. They didnt answer about what violations they said I committed, but i think if you yell loud enough about certain things, they listen? I didnt even get a smack because of the language I used, lol
Now I have my money back and they can drop dead Gawd, they have me mad, lol!
