I had about 45 auctions close with winners in the last month (beofre the fee's). Out of the 45, about 25 were deadbeats! 10 didnt even respond to my initial emails, and another 8 was like bidders with unblemished feedbacks, and I became their first bad, as most kept promising paymnt, even after 45 days! But of course, I never gotten any payments. I know I will get tons of bad tomorrow. ): I sell comics and collectables but still this isn't a good actual successful sell ratio IMHO.

On the chat, yahoobot claimed with the fees, they will take care of the deadbeats, but so far I dont see the signs, plus let's say I listed 40 items, 25 gets a bid, 10 are deadbeats. Because there is fee's involved, will they help me out? Or will they just turn the other cheeks? How is everyone elsewith deadbeats so far?

I had many auctions close with bids on this last free batch of auctions. Most paid very promptly, but 3 deadbeats. Yahoo wouldn't do anything. They had me fill out some form, two didn't respond to it, one claimed he send money and that I stole from him (which was a big lie. the guy didn't have my mailing address. I sent him e-mail after email requesting notification on which payment he was going to use and that if he weren't going to use paypal or paydirect to email back and I'll send him an address to mail it to.) Yahoo did nothing to any of them. They also never responded to my complaints. Not even a form email.

Yahoo makes the stupidest comments! How are fees going to stop the deadbeats? They don't pay.
UGH!

The new Non-Paying Bidder feature helps some because it generates a Yahoo email to the bidder and puts them on notice they did something wrong. Of course the savy deadbeat just ignores it and understands that YaWho will do nothing but bluff.

My deadbeat amount is basically unchanged since listing fees, except for the one or 2 who were intimidated by the YaWho bluff notice.

Typical Enforcement Action:

First and Second Offense: A warning to the bidder from Yahoo! Auctions.
Third Offense: A warning and 30-day suspension from Yahoo! Auctions.
Fourth Offense: The indefinite suspension of bidder's Yahoo! ID.
*Please note: Appropriate enforcement action is determined in Yahoo's sole discretion. This enforcement schedule is approximate.

This is from the Non-Paying Bidder Process page:

Typical Enforcement Action:

First and Second Offense: Brian Fitzgerald scratches his butt and goes to invent another lie about sell-through.
Third Offense: A warning from Henry Blodget, and a high-level discussion about layoffs from Yahoo! Auctions.
Fourth Offense: The indefinite suspension of truth in Press Releases from Yahoo!

*Please note: Appropriate enforcement action is determined in Yahoo's sole discretion.
Since Yahoo! Auctions appears not to have anything resembling an employee who has a brain, much less discretion, it would be most advisable not to expect enforcement.

This enforcement schedule is approximate, and may be a lie also...
