Could it be that Yahoo is now experiencing “reaping what they have sown,” and the fall that comes after the “head in the clouds”, pride? I am speaking of Yahoo in general, not just the auction management.

This finance hocus-pocus means nothing to me and I doubt very much to anyone else who posts here either. Even the so-called experts have no idea of what this all stock trading stuff means ...

Anyone who can't get an email pop server to work for months on end and decimates their auction site in short order deserves what they get.

CEO stepping down and projecting a shaky break even instead of 57 cents a share earnings projected in Jan 2001 is why the stock is down- no mystery there.
But the auction venue wasn't even mentioned - auctions must not be a blip on the screen for revenues- but some revenue from auctions is better than none- which is what YaHoo used to get.
Don't hold your breath for free auction listings- with this financial picture it isn't going to happen.
The drop in auction listings is meaningless too. Any paid listings is better for the bottom line than thousands of free listings.

Thanks, Dimview!
RB: You do not have to read it if you don't want too! A little cranky this morning?
Koogle's stepping down was in my newspaper this morning. If Yahoo reads this board I want to say: GET SMART AND GET RID OF THE LISTING FEES AND GO WITH FVF. YOU WILL MAKE MORE MONEY RIGHT AWAY! Isn't that what all this is about? Yahoo admit you made a mistake. A lot of sellers would come back IF you improved customer service and did FVF.

deichen ... cranky? Everytime I have to get up and go to work it's dark and cold. Everytime I go home after work it's dark and cold.
You bet I'm cranky
Actually, I AM getting a little tired of this Yahooooo bashing. I mean, what possible motive can there be for this? Yahoooo is dead - let them Rest in Peace.
You wanna see real cranky? Check out my posts under the eBay forum. My (and yours) energy is much better utilized whinging about an auction venue that is still active and that needs to have their collective little heads shaken every now and then

The trouble is NO ONE is paying to list on Yahoo. Those who are listing there are doing so with funny money and so Yahoo is not making money yet. And even if a handful were paying to list they wouldn't be making the "big bucks" needed to stay afloat.
"A lot of sellers would come back IF "yahoo" improved customer service and did FVF." I wonder if they would? When they first announced this I would have paid FVF to stay. Now I don't know that I would go back even if they were "free" again.

RB, actually I am a little cranky too!
The reason I am not putting any effort into Ebay bashing, is because I only buy there, now and even that is not very often! I learned a long time ago, that the items I sell do not sell well there and I do not make hardly any profit paying their fees! I guess I am still hoping that Yahoo will change (I know the chances are slim to none) but Yahoo has been what I have been passionate about for nearly 3 years and they pulled the rug out from under me! Geez, I would go back if they would do FVF. I am not selling well at all on BidVille and won't even consider the "other" shady sites!
So in closing....I just want to say: TAKE IT BACK, YAHOO!
