Hi all,

Today someone put some money in my PayDirect account. I accepted it and then I went move it to bank account. When I did I got this error message claiming that I had reached my "move" limit for the month and that I would have to get it raised. Well, first off, I didn't know I had limit, and second, I know I have not "moved" that much in the last month. They say that I "moved" this certain amount all in the last month, and to be perfectly honest, I have never moved that much as long as I have had my account!

It said that I would have to "re-verify" my address. After I do this they will raise my limit and I can move the money out.

Has anything like this ever happened to any of you?

jwoodcrafts,

Here's the only reference to PayDirect withdrawals I could find in the terms of service:

13. Taking Money Out of Your PayDirect Account. You can remove money from your PayDirect Account by entering the required information at the PayDirect website, including your Yahoo! user ID, password and Yahoo! Security Key, to order a credit to your credit card or ATM/check card account or deposit account at a U.S. depository institution. The minimum amount you can take out of a PayDirect Account is the lesser of $5.00 or the remaining balance in your PayDirect Account. You may not take more than $10,000 dollars out of your Yahoo! PayDirect Account over any 180 day period.

I found in the terms of service that every 6 months you have a 200.00 limit that you can't go over unless you verify your address.

I might have recieved 200.00 over the last 6 months, but I don't think so.(most use paypal) Even if I have reached that limit, I have already verified my address. I did that a long time ago.

So I don't know. I am not going to accept any more payments through them until it is worked out. If that is not very soon or it turns into even a little bit of a mess, I will just say bye bye to PayDirect.

Okay, I went to transaction history and did a check on the last 6 months and I was right. (as poor as it makes me sound) I have not gone over the 200.00 limit.

Yet when I try to move it, the message comes and says I have. They are supposed to send me a letter with a confirmation no. on it like I got when I first signed up. I guess I will wait as patiently as I can for that to arrive, enter the no. and see if it will then let me transfer the money out of the account.

Looks like I may not be with PayDirect for very much longer.

Whoever does their PayDirect limit thingee can't add....or maybe the calculator is broken!

I'd suggest that you read some of the PayDirect horror stories on this board, and take heed.

Everyone seems to think the Yahoo PayDirect nightmare can't happen to them, but it can.

LET ME ANSWER YOUR QUESTION...

paydirect is a service that requires a verification of your address. when you use the service alot, or not in many months, the paydirect service will prompt you to re verifiy your address again. the reason behind this is to protect you. and from anyone else tapping into your bank service with them.

i am not saying this is right or wrong, that this is simple way of letting the service know you are still at the proper address.

But it hasn't been a long time since I last used it. It has only been a couple of weeks, and I definately don't use it a "lot". So neither one of those should effect my account.

I understand the need to protect people and I appreciate it, but for some reason, this doesn't feel right.

I am wondering if I can "send" the money somewhere? Maybe I can't "move" it to my account, but maybe I could send it back to the person who sent it to me. I don't know if this would work or not, but I am going to try it as soon as I hear back from the person. I want them to know why I am sending it back, so they don't think I am just refusing it.

Also, the horror stories on this board are the reason I am worried!!
