PLEASE, if anyone from Yahoo actually does read these boards, I am begging you to let us pay for my Yahoo auction listings by money order.

I am down to my last credits. I am actually selling merchandise on your site. Not as much as I sell on Ebay, but enough to make it worth my staying and *gulp* paying you- IF YOU WOULD GIVE ME A WAY TO DO IT!!! I am unable to pay by credit card at this time. I pay Ebay by money order. I don't pay Pootah at all. I have 2 perfectly good alternatives to your site that I am currently using, and a few other options that I am not currently using (but would consider using if necessary.)

I have been one of the biggest Yahoo supporters on this board, but I am seriously getting ready to bail, and it really irks me because the reason I'm leaving is something that would be SO EASY for you to fix.

I am not the only one who has wanted this- we have repeatedly asked you to accept payment by paydirect, check, and money order. Why don't you consider it? Don't you want to keep the few sellers you have?

If you have a debit card you could use it like a credit card.

I don't, and that's not the point.

Yahoo doesn't even take PayDirect as a form of payment! even that would be something.

Probably a blessing in disguise. Those that are hanging in there remind me a little of a group trying to hold a flea market on the deck of the Titanic.

Rebel Guns - great analogy.

CAgrrl - I understand how you might feel, but aren't you beating a dead horse (Yahoo), who, even when it was alive, didn't listen to any suggestions?

Just yesterday, I decided to test a product on Yahoo again. I felt it was a product, one which would quickly sell and be worth the risk on Yahoo. I had just reworked a number of my auctions, to update them in styling. I go to Yahoo to post, and immediately get a note that I have too many image links! I went in and took a couple of superfluous ones out to no avail, the auction still wouldn't post, so I just quit and posted elsewhere. Yahoo, isn't worth the time to specifically adjust my auctions for. Obviously, Yahoo wants high end items, displayed in the Goodwill Motif!

Yahoo isn't interested in making any adjustments even those, which are in their best financial interest - they are gagging to death on PRIDE AND ARROGANCE.

Yahoo cannot accept checks or money orders as they would require human handling. They won't accept PayDirect because .... well, let's just say they have a good reason.

jwpc- as long as MY items are selling on Yahoo (and they are) I consider it an "injured" horse and not a dead one. So I'm an optimist, there's nothing wrong with that is there?

auctionee- ROTFLMAO! I guess there are enough good reasons to not accept paydirect...why should yahoo be any different huh?

And you are right, it would require human handling to process checks & money orders. But I don't think it would be SUCH an overwhelming job. I'm sure one person could handle it fine.

Think about it- do you guys bid on auctions that require you to pay ONLY by credit card? I don't. The last statistic I read was that 80% of auctions are paid for by personal check. While this is not exactly the same thing, it is not entirely different either. We are Yahoo's customers. If your favorite grocery store, restaurant, or shopping mall required you to pay by credit card would you shop there as much? Or at all? I wouldn't. I pay CASH. Credit cards are evil!!!!!!

I would imagine the percentage of usage of credit cards would probably depend on what you offer in the way of payment systems, and what one sells. We offer both PayPal, and calling us direct with Visa/Master or American Express - 95% of our purchases are via credit cards. Naturally, we take MO's; checks, and wire transfers.

We have had a large web site for years, but we divided out a small portion of our site which was compatible to "shopping cart" system. We opened the instituted the new site about a month and a half ago, and it has been doing wonderfully with all purchasing via credit card. We do have the same items still on our regular site for money orders and checks, but 99% of our customers are opting for credit cards, which I like because it is clean and fast.
