I saw deichen made a comment in another thread, about having problems with using FrontPage html on Yahoo.

I have reverted to using FrontPage because the quality of the ads are so much better than any of the template programs. I have used FrontPage html on Yahoo, but most of the time, it takes two or three attempts to submit to get it through AND often I complete the submission page with the html on it, leave it open, go off and do something else, come back and it will go through. BUT this is a pain in the derrière, and Yahoo isn't worth it.

I tried to post a few days ago, an auction on Yahoo with an item I KNEW was a winner, and got so many kick backs because of excessive photo links, etc., I just closed and posted the ad elsewhere, where I don't have to put up with the Yahoo garbage.

The FrontPage html works fine for me in all auctions except Yahoo. I would doubt it would work on Amazon, but I don't use Amazon, so no loss there, and none for Yahoo either, as it is a thing of the past.

FrontPage is certainly the tops for wonderful ad creativity.

Hello!
Yes, I started a topic and was hoping to share with a few people the problems I was having and see if anyone else was experiencing similar problems. However, someone decided to post and attack and the topic was closed! So, do you get illegal operation pop-ups too? I NEVER have had the same problems anywhere else. I just thought it was very strange. I love FRONT PAGE it is so easy and looks so nice!

Thanks for the topic!

I don't use Front Page, but I have been trying to learn a little HTML so I could have an ad on Yahoo that wasn't soooo...you know, "stark white"!

I didn't want anything fancy, just an eye pleasing background color and a little larger font size on my main description.

I kept emailing Yahoo and they did reply and tried helping, but still no-can-do.

Customer support told me for some reason Yahoo's servers "strip out body tags" (not sure what that means). They suggested I use tables and put the color/font in there. OK, soon as I figure that out, I'll try.

No HTML expert here so can't really explain it to you except to say that the result is that you cannot use a colored background on Yahoo UNLESS you use tables, then you can color the background within the tables. Not sure if you can change the font size without tables or not, but you can if you use tables.

Well-I did finally get color and an increase in font size!!!! Doesn't look exactly as I hoped, but it's a start!!!

I figured out how to do a table and bingo there it was.

I always use tables, so have no problem with colored backgrounds, font size, etc. Actually, I didn't pay that much attention to the pop up as I am use to getting them regardless of the html.

Before front page I was dropping in templates with some Auction Assistant and some of my own html, and had the same problem - I have also had problem with tables and my own html, so Yahoo is just sensitive, although when Yahoo was Yahoo, we were running a couple of hundred auctions, and fortunately most were repetitive, because I constantly had problems with Yahoo and getting the auctions submitted.

Just wanted to let deichen know that use of FrontPage was possible, just takes perseverance - but is Yahell worth it? That of course is a matter of opinion.
