I sell jewelry. I have always thought it strange that jewelry didn't have it's own "category" on the Yahoo Auctions homepage. You had to enter it through "clothing/accessories". Well, today I went to my bookmarked "C/A" page and there was no link to jewelry!!! I was sure it was a glitch and wondered how anyone was going to get to my auctions if they were just browsing & not searching!

I discovered that there is a new category on the homepage: "Jewelry/Watches".

Then I looked at the jewelry categories and they have been revamped. Last week they changed the "Fine" category and broke it down into sub-categories. Today they have done away with "Gold" & "Silver" categories entirely and it looks like "FINE" will be the main category and "Vintage/Antique" is now a category by itself and I guess you can list gold/silver there. I also see costume there even though the COSTUME category has it own "vintage/antique" category.

I have also noticed that for 2weeks now there have been 3 (relatively new sellers w/ low FB) FEATURED SELLERS listed at the top of the Jewelry Page. I checked other categories and most also have 3 FEATURED SELLERS listed at the top of their page.

How does one get to be a FEATURED SELLER? Is it going to be a pay-for-thing or is it going to be random? I don't see random since none of the FEATURED SELLERS on any of the categories I have checked have rotated.

Anyone know anything about this??????

You get to be a Featured Seller by becoming near extinction. Once your items have decayed to the point of being of no value, you will be featured. It's more of a charity event. It's a way of letting you know you are on the ropes, and Cassius Clay has just stepped in the ring.

Thanks for enlightening me! LOL I guess I'm not quite there yet!

I emailed Yahoo early this morning because I couldn't find the Jewelry link that has been there since forever and got a reply about 10 minutes ago. Of course, I had already discovered the "tweaking" on my own but the response was so typically Yahoo! customer service:

"Thank you for your email.

Our Jewelry & Watches category is listed separately from our Clothing &
Accessories category. To access jewelry auctions, users should click
directly on the Jewelry & Watches category link instead of the Clothing
& Accessories category link."

Notice there is no mention that this was done today! They want me to feel like an idiot 'cause I couldn't find Jewelry/Watches.

sulyn1950,

The [ i ] [ /i ] will only work if there are no BREAKS in your copy longer than (I think)one space. If you copy/paste the email and don't make a CONTINUOUS paragraph of it, you have to have the [ i ] [ /i ]on EVERY LINE to make it work.

sulyn1950,

While you are editing, you can delete the old "[ edited by sulyn1950 on Mar xxxx, 2001 xxxxPM ] " lines. That way no one knows how many times you tried
