Given a choice between the 2, I'd have to say Yahoo. I tried Amazon Auctions briefly last year and got no lookers or sales in 6 weeks (for books).
eBay is still my first choice (I know you didn't want to hear that, sorry).
I had a decent flurry of activity at Yahoo in early March, selling 33 items. Then nothing at the end of the month. http://bjgrolle.freehomepage.com

Based on my experience, I recommend Amazon Marketplace/Z-shops for Books, Movies, CDs, new games & things they sell that have ISBN #s.
I like YAHOO for other than books & new items. I am very pleased with my sales on YAHOO. I don't deal in expensive items, just older and unusual.
I don't do well on Ebay, even with older & unusual things. For a while I believed I had found something that would sell well on Ebay and was doing well, but pretty soon there were lots of similar items & finally no bids unless I was willing to give my things away.
Bidville is looking good as a site, but I'm not getting bids - even tho I pay for gallery & extras. I have hopes that it will eventually become productive.
