Caution-lengthy post ahead.
Attention Yahoo sellers!

Let me tell you of my yahoo experience as a buyer. I registered with the site as a buyer about 2 or 3 months ago. I had a really difficult time registering because of the email verification that would not accept the code they emailed me. What kept happening was I would get a message that the code was incorrect. I tried copy&paste, typing it in, everything I could think of but had no luck so finally I contacted yahoo. One of their people emailed me and fixed it so I was verified. I proceeded to bid on and win a few auctions and I started going to the site regularly. About 2 weeks ago, I wanted to bid on something but I was not able to-I was told I had to verify my email address again! So I start the process and encounter the same problems as before. So again, I contact yahoo-I receive a canned response which did not even address the issue let alone fix it. So I contact them again-I receive another canned response telling me different things to try such as copy& paste, etc. I try these things and nothing works so I contact yahoo AGAIN. I receive what appeared to be a response actually written by a human stating that this appears to be a "transient" problem and maybe I should try using a different email address.

Are they kidding? I have to change my email to bid on yahoo auctions? No thanks! And who's to say that I won't encounter the same problems with a different address? So I can no longer bid on yahoo auctions and I have to wonder if anyone else out there has had similar problems.

I'm posting this so yahoo sellers will see that potential bidders may have problems like this to deal with when using yahoo. If I were selling on yahoo, this would definitely tick me off-JMHO.

The things that are going on at Yahoo are unbelieveable! By the way, the transient, letter was also canned. I have had that letter!

Yahoo is DEAD as far as I am concerned. I am not even going to bother with using up my credits. There are no bidders and now I know why!

I HAVE HAD MANY BIDDERS CONTACT ME WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH YAHOO. THAT IS WHY I PLACED 95% OF MY AUCTIONS ON 10 OTHER SITES NOW... I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO, DON'T FIGHT WITH CITY HALL, JUST MOVE AWAY, AND I DID... ALL THE TALK IN THE WORLD MEANS NOTHING, THE BOTTOM LINE IS FACTS, AND THE FACT IS YAHOO MANAGEMENT TOOK A HEALTHLY AUCTION SITE, AND RAN IT INTO THE GROUND... IT'S TRUE, IT'S TRUE !!!

Now let me make sure I've got this right.

Yahoo!Auctions is running a "contest" and all you have to do is make a sale to gain an entry.

But lots of folks cannot place bids, hence no sales.

ROTFLMAO.

Well they don't have the cream of the crop working for them. I still sell on Yahoo do okay. I don't mind the fees but I can't list this weekend because they can't verify my credit card. They say it is on my banks end. My bank has double and triple checked. They even verified it themselves etc. . . Yahoo keeps saying it isn't them. This has gone on for several days and quite a few conversations.

An easy answer was for them to call and verify. They say paydirect that is that they cna't do that. They keep saying it is on the banks end I know that it is not but another problem with Yahoo unrealiable servers and system.

So when I asked about the verification via phone no they can't do that etc. . . I say do you want to lose a good customer and a good seller. THey say ti has nothing to do with being a good or bad seller. That they just can't do that. Any merchant knows it is an easy process.

I can't do anything they won't so even though I was still making money there and I didn't mind the fees at all. I guess I will be moving on. I will check again next week if it works but I am not going to strain myself with it.

PS I got a kick out of the new e-mail address. They wanted me to use another credit card. I said no I use one card on the net. Ebay Amazon Half.com etc. . has no problem with it and I am not going to put another number out on the net because yahoo can't get it together.

I like Yahoo I will miss it if it does get it act together on my card by next week.

They really need to get some people with brains to work for them.

I've had the same problem myself, only with PayDirect. I've had three buyers try to use PayDirect and get the same message you've been getting, or a message saying that the invoice number (which PayDirect generates) is invalid. One buyer gave up on the sale. One buyer chose to use Billpoint to complete the sale and the third finally sent me a check. When I tried contacting Yahoo about it, all I got was information on how to verify my address to receive my money. (Obviously, that didn't address the real issue as the money never got into my account due to the fact that the buyer couldn't put it there.)

Yes they don't have the smartest bunch of chickens over there that is for sure. I have had several of my customers with the same kind of issues with paydirect. I am looking into using another pay service.

I can make money anywhere. That means they loose for being idiots. More power to them. It is a shame the few supports yahoo does have left they are chasing away.
