i have a question?
does moving money from yahoo paydirect to my bank account cost money??
i did that last nite and i notice a 1.00 charge in my master card statement??

Paydirect doesn't charge. Depending how your master card is set up and what bank you got it from your bank or issuer of the credit card might. Usually the higher interest rates ones also have a lot of fees attached but some of the lower ones do also. Or it could be some other fee not even related to paydirect. Paydirect itself as off now does not charge a fee

this is a mystery,on 6/18/01 paydirect charges me a dollar.
on 6/19/01 which is last nite,someone bot an item from me on yahoo auctiona and paid me thru paydirect and i have the amount moved to my bank account same night.
what can that 1.00 for??

Just curious....did you just open your PayDirect account (or add a new credit card). If so, that is probably the reason for the mysterious $1.00. When you open your account or add a new card, PayDirect either runs an authorization only or initiates a charge for $1.00 then refunds it (don't remember which it is). This is done to verify that it is a valid credit card...but either way, you should not be out your dollar when you get your statement.

thats it,on 6/19/01 i add my bank account to paydirect,thanks.
so pyadirect is free while billpoint and paypal is not,neither is merchant account,so how can one encourage customers to use paydirect more??

To get people to pay thru yahoo direct.
I just simply say in my description.
I accept checks,money orders, cashiers checks or Yahoo pay direct.
And it works if they have the account.
Also works when somebody says to me oh I thought you took pay pal or do you take pay pal. I say no but do accept ypd, and over 1/2 the time they sign on and send the monies that way.
Easy as can be. And they pay me this way if the sale is on Bidville, Ebay or Yahoo.
It's a nice way to go.

Thanks joan! I'll try to steer all my electronic payers away from BillPoint/PayPal and towards Yahoo PayDirect. I'll try your tactic before resorting to strongarm measures!

I had my first Paydirect payment ever this week with my first Yahoo sale in awhile.. I had gotten paid before i sent my EOA notice out. 8)
I also added a Bank Account to get the funds transferred, and reverified my credit card (My Paypal Debit Card) - there is the $1 charge pending for verification...
I'm adding Paydirect to my options listed in my EOA notices - so I'll now include Paypal, Bidpay, Billpoint, and Paydirect...
Although Billpoint has given itself a big fat negative by changing my selling preferences and adding their logos to my auctions.. 8(
