you can download yahoo messenger that when you have it running and set your alerts is supposed to sound off upon a bid being placed, but that never seems to work for me. I do hear an alert when an auction ends, or when I get a new rating though. I don't always know right away when I get the sounds what they're for, but I usually am able to figure it out.

**** WARNING ****
DO NOT PROVIDE THESE COMPANIES WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND PASSWORD.... It is a scam!
Yahoo is fine ( if you get it to work ) but don't EVER give any other companies acces to your confindentail info

No I have heard of no service like this yahoo offer messanger that when you set it up and change things in your auction configuration will alert you on your sales and your bids.
and there is free voice mail companys that offer to let you give your pager number when you get voice mail or email you they will beep you but has nothing to do with auctions

I had Yahoo Instant Pager - but quickly found that too many "friends," who have nothing to do but talk all day, kept interrupting my work, and either I had to be rude and ignore them, or I was constantly interrupted with "cocktail" conversation...
SO, I removed the Yahoo Instant Pager from my computer....
BUT it just dawned on me, think I'll reinstall it under a name no one but me knows, at least I can then keep up with auctions, without the interruptions of "friends."
Regarding an actual Pager that one carries with them - heavens I don't want a pager, or a cel phone....I am one who dislikes interruptions and/or distractions when I am busy.
