The Yahoo picture hosting won't accept images that are on the "wide" side. I don't know the exact dimension ratio requirement but I know I've submitted a few wide rectangular images and had them show up blank... like you, I even featured one of them; you won't see a warning during the image upload process, either.
First thing I'd do now is test the process by uploading a square or "long" image and see if that one comes through OK.

Actually I think that *is* what happens with a too-wide image. I can't swear for sure since it was some time ago I started being very careful about my *first* image loaded so I don't have the problem any more, but I do think you see the image in the auction listing, but *not* in the thumbnail functions, that is, in the featured gallery, and in the sequence of images that appears if a user selects "see images only."
I do know I have loaded a few very "wide" images in active auctions right now as second or third images, and they are there and visible in the individual item listing page.
I repeat you should try making the image "square," relist, feature, and see if it now appears in the thumbnails. (Or try it with another listing altogether.)

China2Art:
I've had this exact problem too. I called Yahoo and asked around several months ago.
Here's what I know.
I was using AuctionWatch (AW) to post my auctions. It seem that when you launch an auction using AW the pictures are not thumb nailed on Yahoo. It's a software issue. Yahoo doesn't recognize the picture from AW.
Basically, if it's not thumbnailed then your picture is not going to show.
I thought I was smart and switched to GOTO (Now Channel Fussion) to launch my auctions. Same problem. Goto programmers said that this is not something they is fixable at this time.
Now I use the Yahoo Seller Manager! It's wonderful. I can prepare all my auctions ahead of time, load my pictures and launch when I'm ready. No problems at all. Pictures get thumbnailed.
I have a solution for your featured item with no picture. If it doesn't have a bid on it you can manually add the picture now. Go to the Edit Auction feature. It will show above the text but I don't believe it will show when someone selections "show picture only". You may be out of luck there.
hope this helps
