You have to love Yahoo! They really do protect their deadbeat's. I've been with Yahoo for over 2 years now never had a NEG. or NEU. only positive feedback. I had no auction's running at all, so I wasn't violating any TOS. My acct. was paid to date in full. The only problem was last month I filed 2 NPB's against 2 deadbeats who never paid. Never even got the chance to escalate the complaint. So I guess Yahoo's way to solve the problem was to Terminate ME.
You have to love it!

I am so sorry to hear this. You really have to wonder what direction Yahoo would like to go in? I personally have only listed a handful of auctions since the FVF. I LOVED Yahoo auctions before that!

I have a feeling there is a little more to the story then you are telling us. Perhaps there was a TOS violation in one or both of the auctions that you reported the NPBs?

There is no more to the story that I can tell you. I have no idea at all as to what happened. In aug. I ran 15 items 2 sold, never relisted any of them. The 2 that sold, I was never paid for. Filed a NPB two week's ago. Never received word from anyone! Last night I tried to list 5 item's and couldn't went in and found I was booted. I contacted customer service asking for an explaination,we'll see if I get one. If I do I'll post it here. I'd love to see what their reason was. I have never listed anything illegal, and if I did I would expect them to cancell the auction. Not to cancell me,especially over a month after the auction's had ended.

They never give explanations. I was booted off yahoo too. A seller ripped me off, and resold the item on ebay. I had not even heard of ebay before this, just had some people send me ims after I negged her saying I hadn't received my item (a little girl's outfit)giving me the link. This seller kept selling items on yahoo and then relisting on ebay after she was paid and getting double the money for them. She finally got booted off ebay. I got kicked off for negging her and calling her a thief in my neg. My only satisfaction of the whole matter was I was one of the ones who helped get her kicked off ebay.
The yahoo name that got kicked off was very special to me. I had run a website on it with yahoo/geocities and there was years of work committed to it. It would take a long time to rebuild it, so I decided not to.
I had some addresses saved of people and lots of other important info saved in my yahoo email account. I'll never save info with yahoo again.
I sent email after email after it happened demanding an explanation and that it be fixed, but yahoo never even had the courtosy to acknowledge my emails to them.
They ended up going through and booting off all my yahoo names that had been registered at the isp addy. I played online games a lot so I had different names I used for each game.
Yahoo does this all the time to people without warning. But I've been in gamerooms and seen people cursing others and doing obvious TOS violations and yahoo does nothing about it. If it weren't for their ignore feature, I don't know how I'd tolerate it.

Okay I wouldn't be shocked if this did happen as you say, but think there's more to the story also. Have you inquired about it? (By telephone would probably be the best, and if so what was the response?)

Same thing happened to me right after they started their fees. Up until that time I had reported a total of 14 different bootleggers to Yahoo, and each time I did, they sent me an email thanking me for helping them to keep their site safe.
Along came the fee structure.
The next bootlegger I reported got me kicked off Yahoo! That bootlegger, by the way, is still VERY active selling tapes on Yahoo even though his feedback is loaded with negatives complaining about poor copies, missing episodes, etc. The guy is so bad that he won't give you his name in his EOA notice, just a post office box. He wants cash or a money order with the "pay to" portion left blank!
I guess as long as that person continues to sell (i.e. bring in money for Yahoo), they will protect him.
btw, when I questioned Yahoo about my termination, there was absolutely no response from them at all.

It's been 4 day's now since I contacted them for an explaination, still no responce! I suspect I never will hear from them. If they had what they though was a good reason, it's more than likely to ridiculous to share. And since they have the power to do what they want, when they want, they more than likely never will let it be known!

Did you have more than one ID? Yahoo blocked me while I had auctions running! I contacted them...by phone. I had another ID that I'd totally forgotten about. They de-activated the one I was using and left the other one in place. The CS person was very helpful. De-activated the unused one and re-activated the active one. It seems that you are permitted only ONE ID now.

HI:
I only had 1 I.D. Credit card was good they took their pymt. 2 day's before giving me the boot.
They never gave me an explaination! Actually I'm glad in a way. It was really a waste of time and money. Never had many looker's and at the end the only sale's were to deadbeat's who never did pay! So what was the point. It was just throwing good money after bad!

As a matter of fact, Yahoo was the first place I started buying and selling on. I used a single ID for everything there, including my regular reports to their CS about the bootlegs. It wasn't until the fees came along that they stopped thanking me for helping them to keep their site safe and stopped ending the sales of very obvious bootlegs. My suspension came as a result of reporting a seller with a fairly high feedback. I had contacted this seller prior to the auction closing to ask him if his tapes were commercially released, he told me yes, and I placed a bid and "won". During the payment details emails, I asked him to verify that I was getting orginals, and at that point he told me I would be getting really good copies of the eps he taped off teevee. He also wanted me to send him either cash or a money order with the "Pay To" line left blank. He told me he would fill that in. He gave me a post office box to send the money to, but no name!. I, ahem, told him to take a hike and I posted a warning feedback about him. He posted several negs on my profile (don't know how but he did, but they are still there today!), and Yahoo subsequently suspended me for having too many bad feedbacks from one seller!
Of course I made a full report including the listing number, a copy of the seller's EOA notice wherein he clearly stated he was selling bootlegs and that he would not give me his name, and the name and telephone number of the copyright owner to allow Yahoo to verify. They didn't bother, and the seller keeps selling on their venue and keeps feeding the fees to Yahoo!
If you want to see an even better example of Yahoo's attitude about illegal items allowed on their venue, go to any one of their entertainment pages (for example "Yahoo Television Coverage", scroll down to the bottom and under "Yahoo Auctions", click on "Buffy", "Sopranos", "Dark Angel" etc.. You will be greeted with screenfulls of bootleg tapes that violate copyright law and, when they include a picture, trademark law also.
It's bad enough that they allow these illegal items to be listed and sold on their venue, but even worse that they advertise them on their entertainment pages!
Finally, and this is where the real fun starts, try contacting Yahoo's Copyright "Expert" with facts using this info from their site and see how far you get:

luv ...
I don't think all auction sites suck. As a matter of fact, I don't think any of them really "suck". My problem is I tend to ride the edge and I hate it when I see honest buyers getting ripped off by dishonest sellers - the sellers who peddle bootlegs, misrepresent items, sell stuff they don't have, gouge on shipping charges, etc..
You may have seen my rants about the proliferation of bootleg videotapes on auction venues. This one bugs me the most as videotape trading happens to be my #1 hobby. I have been trading these things all over the world since way before the advent of on-line auctions and email. If I was less than honest, I could list some of my 4000 odd tapes on these venues and make some major bucks - I have stuff in my collection that will never be seen on North American teevee.
But, I absolutely refuse to sell any of my collection unless it's the original studio released tape (like the kind you buy in the video stores). Nor will I ever entertain selling or even trading a copy of any commercially released tape, DVD, or CD. Ask my long time friends in the tape trading groups and they will tell you that I am a stong supporter of the studios and artists who make this stuff.
When I see a very obvious bootleg on eBay or Yahoo, I get the urge to report it. Not so much to stop the sellers (there are other places where they can peddle their junk), but more to protect the buyers - those folks who thought they were buying an original. When the eBay drones tell me "Sorry, but we won't do anything unless the copyright owner contacts us directly", it makes me wonder about their integrity. They know damn well that a major studio like HBO or FOX cannot react fast enough to these types of complaints before the auction closes.
They also like to hide behind their "we're just a venue status", and to appease the gullible, they come up with farces like VeRO which is 100% ineffective in halting this problem.
I have reported listings where the description actually says "This is not an original but a copy with a quality of about 7 on a scale of 1 to 10", and eBay does nothing. I have even appended a copy of eBay's written policy outlawing the sales of these types of items to my complaints, and still nothing.
Yahoo doesn't respond at all, even with 'bot lip service
I have to hope that at least the folks who follow the rules and don't say anything when they see something wrong (you know, the type who look the other way when they see a crime being committed 'cause they don't want to get involved) are treated a little better by these venues. Unfortunately, I keep coming back to the "community" thing where all of us are supposed to do what we can to keep the venue safe foe everyone, and I have a really hard time trying to stifle myself when I see an obvious abuse.
luv --- if you're one of those people who just wants to have a little fun and make a little money, and has no desire to ever rock the boat, you should do well on any of the bigger venues.
