Is there a category for adult items on YAHOO!? I went and looked but saw nothing for mature audiences.

Sorry, adult items were banned months ago. It was virtually an overnight decision.
"4/13/01 Adult Categories
Yahoo! Auctions is discontinuing the Adult & Erotica categories. Items submitted before 12:00PM EST on 4/13/2001 will remain on the site until the auctions close. No new submissions will be posted after that time."
My memory is a bit fuzzy but I think it went like this. The CEO or someone had an interview and the reporter printed Y! allowed porn. Almost immediately it was all over the news and Y's advertisers threatened a boycott stating they didn't know and only wished to sponsor G rated sites. Next day, the above announcement from Yahoo.

It was a good decision by Yahoo. I wish some of the free sites would follow Yahoo's lead and ban the porno. Instead, you will often see that material in the general audiences sections of their auction sites which means that young children can view the material. One good reason not to go to free auction sites if you have kids that like to go through the site looking for taboo items.

Hey bidsbids it's that kind of negative head in the sand kind of statement that hurts small sites looking to build a user base. I don't find porn listed anymore on smaller sites than I do on the larger sites. I have run across it on the larger sites listed in regular catagories so gosh don't use the larger sites if you have kids. If you have kids you had better get rid of your computers and get yourself another hobby. Type XXX in any search engine and see what you get, kids are not stupid they know what search engines are for. Why in the world would they go to a small auction site and look for it?

Yahoo did away with the adult category but not the items sold there, sellers just moved them to other areas of the site.
If your interested in "mature" items, just go to books. In the last week I found no less than 15 auctions in one category for triple X videos, vibrators, strap-on toys, fetish items(buy my boyfriends underwear) etc. All with photos.
I don't mind folks selling their goods, but I don't like them listed out of category. They need to be in the proper place/venue/category.

The worst thing I've come across in my Yahoo travels recently is a set of items that was listed with an extremely misleading auction title. The best way I can put it, is that the title was NC-17 rated. The item didn't even belong in the category it's in. This item would best be placed in a certain subcategory of Computers, but the seller had it under a very specialized subcategory of Toys.
I reported this auction to Neighborhood Watch at Yahoo (with the link on the page) plus I reported the seller to PayPal because their TOS indicated that if a buyer used PayPal to pay, then the buyer would have to pay extra to cover the PayPal fee.
To me, there is no reason to violate the rules at a place like PayPal, when as a seller, there are certainly other payment options like BidPay if you want the buyer to pay for using a credit card.

I used to be a full-time seller in the Yahoo adult category.......it cut my business by 75% when they closed it it even put my in such a mood I didn't have the energy to list anything anywhere.
