This past week was our worst week in online sales. Terrible. Last night had 55 auctions on Yahoo and sold 13! Usually have a sell through rate of min 75%. Our other auction sites we just as bad. Anyone else dying this week?

my sales on ebay have been going down since the attack but strangely enough my sales on yahoo have been going up and this has been one of the best weeks.

Best week in a long time but still very few sales in relation to items listed. Several new users have been winning auctions and with the credit card verification for both buyers and sellers these new users are as reliable as users with high feedback ratings, sometimes better.

CC verification has been in place on Yahoo for over a year (longer I think). This is not a new thing and I still have deadbeats even with that. I do not think CC verification helped one bit with the deadbeats and it eliminated alot of buyers who refuse to get a CC or do not want it on the net.

I think it helps a LOT to have credit card verification for both buyers and sellers. The pranksters are taken out of the picture completely. The loss of a few paranoid or whatever uusers that will not use a CC are are a very small price to pay for this assurance. Certainly there are a few deadbeats with CC's but at least you rid the site of most pranksters.

NO, they are not taken out of the picture completely. There are still those who think bidding is fun and then never paying. This happens at every site. If you have not had it happen at Yahoo (since CC verification) or at Ebay, then maybe you do not list very much. Bogus Bidders are a fact of life in the online auction world.

Yahoo is never realy great for me, however at this time, yahoo may as well not exist at all... At least my Ebay auctions are trickling in some sales. Ebay at least does some advertising, I have not seen any advertising for Yahoo at all. Yahoo has a great search engine, and a not so great auction site...

Overall, I had roughly 50% sell through - but that comes from one type of item having 75% sell through and another type of item having 20% sell through.
Unfortunately, the items I came across that 75% sold were a one time deal and I don't know where I can get more of them at a reasonable price. Had I known they'd do this well, I could have bought more at that time.
I have many of the items that 20% sold, though.
I think I will list some new items regardless; I have a nice bunch gathered together again.
Even if I'm not making much money, I am glad to see things moving - much better to ship something out than have it sit around for another week or month. I would rather clear out the space for future finds.

I have had my worst week on Ebay. I have just started listing with Yahoo (only 2 items so far) but I am ready to spread my wings and handle two auction sites. I have done very well on Ebay until the attacks. I believe most bidders are bidding on the Auction for America that runs through Christmas on Ebay.

If you thought it was bad on ebay? .... good luck on the much lesser sites. They make a stagnant ebay look like a bustling marketplace.
More and more sellers are returning to ebay from the lesser sites instead of fleeing a slowing ebay.
