On a previous post BLAIRWITCH suggested that I post my suggestions for Yahoo's new look on their message board- Just did that and I can't believe the results-I went to reread it after the post but I could not find it- did find it eventually by accident but can't access it through the regular message board- Why- how do people find it to reply to?- That's just symptomatic of the chaos that Yahoo is in-and has to get out of-in case anyone at Yahoo wants to try to look for it- it is called New Yahoo vs. Same Old EBAY-The shortest distance between any 2 points is still a straight line- Wake up YAHOO- If you really want to di EBAY in now is the time to do it but you people have to come back down to Earth and make the buyers and sellers want to be on the site-I used to work in the Advertsing field more years ago than I care to count but a good slogan for Yahoo would be "COME ON OVER TO MY HOUSE"

Perhaps you'd beter stay at ebay since you are so familiar with their setup.

why bother to comment if you have nothing to say- I am starting to post everything on Yahoo and have heard they are listening to buyers and sellers suggestions by reading message board posts-

Hi guys, i was doing ok posting at yahoo...till last nite..something is missing or new i am not seeing it to start a new thread.(& it was working fine before).i think they will eventually get a little different system..there are many people there that don't understand what a profile is..there is your id for bidding & selling..& then there is a profile.(this is viewable by others by clicking on your id in the post).you may have 5 of them..you can put a pic, your website url etc,& link to your auctions..
well everyone wants to see each others auctions but the default is no link to auctions..they need to go to edit profile & click on a box to include auctions in profile page..so i wanted to not just reply to the posts but start a new one & i could not.
the idea of a slogan is very good..everyone is saying yes,,yahoo needs to work on the home page..simplify..i feel they also need to move the new search link on auctions page to top of page not the bottom..people are missing it!even people that sell,,think of newbies..they will never see it..
they also need new simplified categories.i see that some that posted on their chat have immediately noticed new categories they asked for..so they are trying..
hope they are monitoring this...a few things need to be changed but gee the mood is upbeat over there!i am getting more hits than i have at the big place in months..good luck everyone

or why bellyache about Yahoo and knock it. If you can not adapt to a different auction setup just stay then why not stay where you are at? Yahoo does not need a bunch of whinners.

Hi bids,,gee i would never knock Yahoo, i like it very much there & have been there all along..in fact i am moving all my stuff there right now..even before the reduced fees.emailed a few seller friends & they started listing there today too..they didn't know about it the new fee structure..
.It's just many new people needing help on those boards cannot get help from me or the other sellers as i cannot figure out how to start a new thread..just checked over there again..another person posting they are having trouble with the board set up..
I have made many online friends from my great yahoo bidders.over the last few years...i hope Yahoo does great & i am glad they did listen to our comments on the survey.I got a bid, & many more hits than my few ebay items that are closing soon..also have always liked the watchlist feature..take care& good luck

Since this was directed at me I will answer you- I am not complaining about YAHOO- But if you think that it is perfect the way it is then you must be buying or selling penny items- Yahoo thinks that something is wrong or they would not be trying to change the way they have been operating- I want them to succeed- I would like to be a part of that success by saying bye bye to EBAY- but they have to attract the buyers who are willing to -spend more than $9.99 for an item so that sellers in the Antiques and Collectibles market can afford to post there-That was EBAY's bread and butter before they burned the toast now it's up to YAHOO- If they can't do it the online market for these items is dead

Clancey99, may I suggest you try Yahoo's wonderful customer support with your suggestions. 95% of all emails go unanswered and the other 5% get a canned message that has nothing to do with the email question. Yahoo is trying to run their auctions on a bare shoestring, unlike ebay that spends a lot of money and resources. So if you thought ebay was bad then you ain't seen nothing yet.

I would sooner pay alot less fees at yahoo for a canned response, than pay premium fees at FEEbay for a canned response. Yahoo will grow quickly but it wont be overnight. They have finally decided to compete with ebay.

There seems to be 2 seperate markets out there- the New merchandise, computers etc and the Antiques and Collectibles-They each attract their own customers-there is very little overlap-I have noticed that in the past few months where I live in New York- Both buyers and sellers have been going back to the antiques shows and live auctions because the pickings have been slim on EBAY- Yahoo has a great opportunity I hope they make the most of it- It isn't going to take money only smoe real creative thinking on their part
