I decided to do a Damp Run (kind of like a dry run, except it is a real auction), to prepare for the reduction in auction fees. I set up an item to be auctioned off using AM. After a couple of false Starts, I finally got my item up for sale. I figured that it would die a quiet death, and then later this week I would start my 100 auctions on Yahoo at the reduced rate. Well, nice suprise, I got a bid! I am actually going to sell something on Yahoo the first time I List there. I am 1 for 1!

I sell mostly computer related items... 16% of my eBay auctions have bids (20 out of 127 auctions). On Yahoo, it is only 2.5% (1 out of 40 auctions). I'll list on Yahoo, but I'm not expecting much since their Seller Manager Bulk Upload snafu will make all mine end at midnight! Who bids at midnight?!?!

I tried my dry run before the prices went down. Got no bids. Tried a bunch after prices went down. so far I have not bids. How does one get a counter on Yahoo auctions?

You don't need one. Page view counts are part of the web side. If you look on the right side of the auction, you'll see a section called "Page Views".

I am pretty happy so far with Yahoo. Had 6 auctions close today with bids (I am doing a lot of buy it now, at prices that are higher sometimes than on Ebay) and I like the lower fees. We'll see, but so far, so good.

New slogan.
If you are looking to unload stuff at give-away prices, COME TO YAHOO!
We are selling about 1 out of 6 items. The ones getting bids are, for the most part, less than $7.00.
We are selling about 2 out of 3 on Ebay and getting respectible prices for most of them.
I've also been watching the PREMIUM sellers in the categories I sell in and there results are about the same as ours. Low sale prices and selling about 20% or less.

POO ON YAHOO!!!
In 2000 I totally switched from eBay to YAHOO, and did an outstanding business on YAHOO for a year. After having been on eBay since 1996, I was amazed, that for the year of 2000, I doubled my sales on Yahoo and made a great deal more money. THEN came the dreaded fees, and since the beginning of this year, I haven't been able to give anything away on Yahoo.
Last week I tested again - both Yahoo and eBay. My sales on eBay are going wild, and on Yahoo NOTHING!
That does it for YAHOO - for us eBay is doing fantastic at this point in time. On Yahoo, we get MORE views than eBay, but no buys and that is the crux - the sales are on eBay. I hate to have to say this, but at this point in market time, YAHOO is bombing, just as it has for a year now.
