Yahoo Direct is attempting to charge me back for a transaction that took place 11/21/01. They notified me 1/31/02. They claim it was made with a fraudulent credit card yet they will send me no proof of this. Anyone else with similiar situation with Pay Direct should email my attorney David Bargeron Esq at [email protected]

He is investigating this.

I'm sure your lawyer will love charging you to investigate it. Good luck.

this sounds like billpoint.
like yahoo direct and amzn one click, seller never see the credit card ,he relies on these middleman to interpret the results of cc verification process.
it sounds like this is a case of fraudulent use of cc,may i ask how much is involved.
there is no need for lawyer,if you have a signed order form (which i bet you do not) or a signed receipt of delivery to the person whose card is registed on the cc and to his billing address as registered on the cc,you can fight the charge.
if you ship ups or fed exp,ask them for a copy of signed receipt,if you ship usps ,then you need a signature receipt.
else you are bound to lose.

The biggest question has anyone who has been charged back been given verification of the charge back? What they are saying is give us money because we say so.

As far as lawyer fees I'll worry about those.

if this is completed thru your merchant account with a bank, your bank will forward affidavit from the cardholder who said he did not authorise the charge.you have x munber of days to present your side of the transaction-signed order receipt and /or signed receipt of good delivered.
with yahoo paydirect, they have the cardholder affidavit ,you may ask them for a copy and see for yourself.

it should not be a big deal for yahoo to pass you all the information concerning your case.
how did you ship the item?is it insured ??
where did you ship it to?
is ship to different than bill to??

Yahoo cannot help me it is the bank they use that has the info. They refuse to even tell me what transaction it was, just the total and it was in November. The total tells me it was sent insured (I send all items over $40 insured mail.). The unfortunate thing in November I sent many of the same thing with the same total. <br />

you may have to read the yahoo paydirect agreement which you signed and see what it said about chargebacks and disclosure.
the bank which provides merchant account to yahoo gets the chargebacks and passed on to yahoo, either it is in the terms of agreement you signed with yahoo that they do not have to disclose the details or that person within yahoo dont know any better.
if they would only tell you the reason -say cardholder never receive the goods, then you can file for insurance with the carrier.
i assume this is USPS,see, you cannot file for insurance without getting the buyer to complete his part of the claim form.
if yahoo refuses to tell you who it is,how can you file for insurance??????

11/21/01 is the transaction date of the item(s).
how many did you sell that day??
you can go back to your records and email those buyers ??
