Is it better to do a relisting through AW Auction Manager, or due it directly on Yahoo? Or does it really make any difference? Pros or Cons? TNX

Since, I use Yahoo's Seller's Manager and up load directly to Yahoo, I guess I can't really help you, but...I have found that even on relist using SM, it is easier for me to simply go to my closed auctions on Yahoo and "resubmit" from there. It is so easy and quick. Just can't "batch" them unless you choose auto resubmit at time of original launch.

The only problem I have found is if I want to change categories. It's the first option given to you on the resubmit page from Yahoo, but if you try and do it, you get a "blank" description box and it looks like you would have to copy/paste your old auction into it. I'm not sure, what would happen if I just hit resubmit AFTER changing the category without adding anything to the description box. If Yahoo didn't charge for listing I'd "experiment". As it is I just hit relist and then I go into "manage this auction" and switch the category. It takes me less than a minute.

I can't use the auto resubmit feature because I often feature my auctions the last couple of days. If you have the auto relist feature activated, AND you featured the auction (even if on last day only) it will re-launch and automatically feature the auction at your last bid price!!!! I learned that the hard way. Ended up auto relisting an item that I had bid $1 for the last day and when it relaunced I got popped for 10 days at $1.00. If you cancel the auction, you don't get your feature fees back either. I argued for over a month to no avail.

If you decide mid-way through the auction to change categories, it simple to do, but if you had featured it in the original category, the feature does not trasfer and you lose that. If you want to keep it featured, you have to repay. That's because each category allows you to "bid" on how much you want to pay for placement.

The feature process on Yahoo is a big bone of contention for me. I really would like to see a set price with rotation of the items. It's the one thing I think eBay does better.
