The article says the hardest impacted could be services such as PayPal and small "mom/pops" which use such services since they can't afford to have a merchant account on their own.
PayPal said they were working on a deal with Mastercard.
eBay said Billpoint would not be impacted since they work with Wells Fargo.
Yahoo's PayDirect couldn't be reached (that sounds familiar)

I don't mind the debit card at PayPal because I don't keep too much $$ in that account, but I won't get their newest offering... A credit card with Providian! Providian hires incompetents, and had more lawsuits against them than you can shake a stick at.

You think Providian is bad? Try Capital One. You can have a zero balance and still get charged a $6 monthly maintenance fee--on NOTHING. $72 a year in addition to the $50 membership fee. Those are two credit card providers that need a huge BUYER BEWARE stamped on the envelope, right next to the "You've Been Pre-Approved" stamp.
