Wow I am shocked. I thought we saw the last of FLD's but I was wrong. Maybe the increasing numbers TAG reported has lighted a fire. I predict listings could double easily.

I haven't put an auction up on Yahoo in a long time. The last time I did, on free listing day, you could get free day for auctions you already had in your "dead" auction list. You had to recreate them. Do you have to do that again this time around? If so, it ust isn't worth the time.
Thanks.

Your 'dead' or unsold auctions list may be gone if you haven't looked at them for a while. Yahoo now only keeps the unsold auctions for about 3 months on their servers and Yahoo also only keeps your images for a month or two on their servers ( the auction may be there but the image(s) may be gone ). Check your 'not sold' auctions to see if there are any there and if so check to see if any Yahoo saved images are still there. You can resubmit any unsold auctions.
This is the new Yahoo Auctions and not the old Yahoo Auctions were your unsold and sold auctions were saved for a very long time.
Good luck.

They're pretty desperate there at Yahoo. They lack any brilliant marketing or management so they have to resort to offering free listing days to get anyone to list. To me that sounds like a place not to waste time developing a business around, free or otherwise. They just don't seem to get it, sellers will glady pay if they just draw in more buyers.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Surprisingly, in view of what you said, I went and looked, and my auctions and pics from last March are still available with pics(I "pretended" to put one up, cancelling at the last minute).
So I still have the same question. Last time they had free listing, it had to be a fresh auction. You couldn't just put back up the auctions you had in your sold and unsold list. Does anyone know for sure if you need to start over again this time around?

I've relisted every auction I had on the two or three FLDs that Yahoo had and all relisted fine.
It is strange that your six month old auctions are still on their servers. Others reported that their auctions had disappeared too when it was discoverd that Yahoo was dumping images and auctions from their servers several months ago. ( see older thread in this forum ) Your problem of not being able to relist on a FLD is the first I've ever heard.

Robert I too never had any problems relisting items on FLD, and I have some to list tomorrow so I will let you all know. Yahoo does cancel old items after a few months, but I never had that problem.
quickdraw29 I think its nice of yahoo to have another FLD. How many did ebay have this year to thank their sellers?

******************
I didn't have a problem, because I didn't do it. I redid all the auctions. When they announced FLD last time, they had an blip saying that the aucitons had to be fresh auctions to not be charged. It's possible I misunderstood, btu I thought it was discussed here at the time..so I wasn't the only person who misunderstood.
I'll do one tomorrow before I do the batch. As far as I can tell, all of my old pictures are still up..I haven't run into any yet that aren't. I don't usually do that good on Yahoo..or even when I do, I seem to often have trouble getting payment..but I did sell enough to make it worth the time. However, not having to redo old auctions will certainly be great. Thanks for the info.

This will be Yahoo Auctions 4th FLD. The others were on 12/06/01 & 1/24/02 & 3/12/02.
Searching back on this form I found this thread about posting problems on the last FLD. I didn't search back to the other FLDs.

That listing problem was from too many images in the auction. As far as relisting auctions from closed auctions, unsure why those wouldn't relist as I had about 100 to relist and all listed without a hitch. As far as the bulk listers go, it seems that every FLD no matter if here at Yahoo or over at Ebay, there always seems to be some kind of glitch. Might be designed by the sites so the FLD isn't abused and over flooded at once.

I went ahead and relisted some from last March, and it showed no cost, so apparently I was given bad info last FLD. Pics were still there, and even though the auctions were 6 months old, they listed intact!

No problem here. I listed items several times yesterday and all went smooth. I always list multiple items and never had a problem. Maybe your item is against the TOS?
