listing day, going from 265,155 listings on 15 Sep to 448,829 on
19 Sep. Listing increases were across all the categories.[/b]
I would like to know who is doing their numbers because I went through each category on the 19th and got the numbers below.

I went through every category a while back and it was a very tricky task because many categories are listed in different places and thusly double listed. To really do it properly you'd need to print out each category and mark off all the redundant categories and not count them.
I think TAG's numbers are very close. I'd like to see the numbers now too. I'm having very good success at ebay and will not list at Yahoo anymore unless it's a FLD from now on. I sill have a list of non papyers from the last FLD.

Tooltimes it took me and a friend 3 hours to break down the counts and add them. I dont know who does their numbers, but they are wrong big time. Eliminating the double category listings was easy.
We will be doing the numbers again soon. I would like to do them monthly.

When I went through the Yahoo categories I rounded off the numbers and joted down some figures for each section. When I noticed the redundances I rechecked the categories and saw the repeaters were in italics and then seperately kept track of those categories. It only took 20 to 30 minutes because I rounded off the numbers and I can do column addition faster than using a calculator.

I have found that it isn't that big a deal of how many listing there are, but the quality of listings. Yes, if there is more, there is more to choose from as a buyer, Maybe. We all learned with the addition of listing fees that there is way too much junk out there to put a lot of weight in numbers of auctions as opposed to number of quality auctions. Personally, my sales at Yahoo have never been better as buyers no longer need to sift through crap to see my items.

When you count items on Yahoo you do not count the items marked with the AT sign (a in circle) because they will show up in their own category and you are counting them twice if you include them. Also, you only count the bolded lines so for example today (12 Oct) Automotive has 3,423 listings - under Classic and Collector you have 214 total-
