I am getting so frustrated with bidders lately. I have sold SO MANY things on auctions and I have not received A LOT of feedback for those transactions. I of course leave feedback for them but they just ignore me, I've even sent a kind reminder email asking that they do so. I am just going to stop leaving feedback for others. Anyone else have this problem??? What do other people do about this situation??

No matter what you do, some people will leave feedback and some won't, and it's out of your control.
Sometimes the buyer doesn't leave feedback because he's not all that "thrilled" with his purchase, but elects to keep it. Sometimes he just forgets (and may post it months later). And some people never go to the trouble to post it for ANYONE, not just you.
I NEVER ask for feedback from a bidder, but I ALWAYS leave feedback upon receipt of a buyer's payment.
I know sellers who won't leave feedback for a buyer until they're sure the item won't be returned, which I think is WRONG. All the bidder has agreed to do is pay for an item, not "like" it as well. A buyer who pays promptly then returns something STILL deserves feedback (unless he was "ugly" about it).
And a seller who won't leave feedback until the buyer does is being unfair and rude. They sent you their money on blind faith; the least you can do is praise them for it in feedback.

I put a note in every package which says "Thanks for your purchase, I hope you enjoy this item. I'd appreciate your posting positive feedback for me under item #______, as I have done for you." My rating is 259-1-0 and I have put in that same note from day 1. Not everyone returns it but at least I try to encourage them.
Antqe I agree there is no excuse for a seller not to FB first in Yahoo. Unlike eBay you can change the rating any time in the rare event the check bounces, bidder returns item or whatever might happen. There's no limit on length of FB either so you can say EVERYTHING you need to explain the details. I don't care if it's Yahoo or eBay, I won't FB a seller who hasn't FB'd me regardless of their policy or how much I love the item.
Last week I got a FB from a 10/21/99 auction saying "Better late than never, sorry this took so long. I recall the item was shipped fast, arrived in great condition and you were a very nice seller".
I just wonder what made them think to finally FB after all this time, I've never had any more contact with them since Oct.

I had the same problem w/ bidders not leaving
feedback even though I promptly left feedback once I received payment. After some thinking I e-mailed winners and told them to e-mail me once they received their
items and to let me know how they liked it.
Once they e-mailed me, I replied thanking them for their business and added a link
for them to click on to leave feedback about me. I found this greatly improved my ratings.

Thanks for all the responses. I do send a very nice personalized letter with every item I send and I keep in contact very well with the bidder. I go out of my way sometimes and to no avail I still get no feedback. I will continue to leave feedback for others but I still think it is unfair. The items I sell are definitely not things that people would be unhappy with and I have never had a bidder dislike the item they received. Also, how does one go about putting in a link for feedback. With Yahoo, the only way I have seen to leave feedback is to go to the "won" section and go to the auction and "rate seller". Is there another way to do this?????

It is a problem. I've sold probably twice as many auctions as I have feedback for. I send e-mails, enclose notes and get few responses. I always leave buyer feedback the day I receive payment. It is very frustrating!! I have people send me e-mails about how a great an item is but not leave feedback. Very frustrating!

I agree totally with antge above. Feedback is an optional favor not a right or requirement. One of the most obnoxious things I've noticed is buyers or sellers posting negatives because other party failed to post prompt feedback.

Well let me share with you folks some stats. I've completed 1700+ auctions in Yahoo alone. Have received 390+ feedbacks with a rating of 190+.
Most buyers buy multiple auctions from me per purchase & say out of 10 wins, I am lucky if they even bother to leave me 1 feedback. Most people will not leave me good feedback for all 10 auctions. Some don't even bother to leave any feedbacks.
Its no big deal. A little bit frustrating yes but certainly something not worth getting upset about. I never ask for feedbacks & most often leave feedback as soon as I get payment. As long as they pay me, I am a happy camper

Hey, the way things have been going the last several months, I'm so GRATEFUL to be PAID for the auction (and not get a "deadbeat", or "lonesome wierdo", or threatening "wacko", that I don't much CARE if they leave good feedback or not.
My blacklist is starting to include not just deadbeats, but also people who paid me and COMPLAINED every inch of the way. Is anyone else getting them, too???? (Like the one who complained about my speed in shipping BEFORE SHE EVEN PAID ME. In her initial email she told me about all the sellers who've been slow to ship her stuff, and made a mild "threat" about the feedback she would leave me.) I've had several like that lately, and I leave them good feedback, then blacklist them from bidding again.
I need their money, but I SURE don't need the stress.
