It was nice while it lasted. Too bad the management at Yahoo don't know how to manage.
All you had to do was start charging an FVF and don't allow any worthless sports cards and you would have competed. Now, you are gone. One has to wonder how much longer any other part of Yahoo will still exist in the next 5 years.

How is charging FVF stop anyone from listing baseball cards??
Most get no bids anyway,so who is worrying Aabout FVF?
Yahoo Finance is going strong, although every time they change the format,it gets harder to navigate.
EVERY TIME THEY CHANGE SOMETHING,SOMETHING BLOWS UP!

Yahoo was a great alternative both in the beginning and near the end. I did great when Yahoo first started auctions, quit when they started charging a listing fee, and went back when they were free again. Yahoo is a perfect example of mismanagment. I have always felt they deserved a FVF and would have gladly paid. I am now letting my Bidville auctions run their final course, as well (I sold 2 items so far this year), I am doing fairly well with ecrater and will list on Ebay occasionally. I will miss Yahoo. I had over 1000 feedback and a site where I might not get but a couple sales a month, it took a long time to reach that number.
RIP, but know you could have been a GREAT alternative to ebay and could have at least been a worry to them.

I am also sorry to see Yahoo close its US auction site.
Did great when they started.
Yahoo had 4.5 million listings at one time and then implemented their listing fee.
It was all downhill from there. They lost 90% of their auctions.
By the time they figured they made the wrong decision and moved back to free listings, it was to late.
The site had the potential of knocking the arrogant ebay off the throne or at least have some competition.
To bad the yahoo US people making the decisons did not listen to their sellers.
We all told them over and over again that the listing fee was bad and the FVF was the way to go.
I hope they got fired. Stupid people.
RIP US Yahoo Auctions.

I remember Yahoo said -now all the junks are gone!
meaning the fee chased away the junks which sit for months and months.
But the good listings never show up!
Yahoo shopping the same story-first it was $100,$300 a month listing fee, then they changed it to 49.99 plus 10 cents an item, then they made it 39.99 and want you to participate in pay per click.
Thats when we keep getting Nigerian orders,we paid for their clicks,we paid for their credit card authorisation and some of us are stupid enough to ship the goods.
On Yahoo personal ads, same deal, they want so much a month and it is so clumsy to use,so people drop out after 3 months.
Yes,soon Yahoo will disappear .

I will not miss the dozens of "questions" that have been in my mail trying to sell me something or send me to another website, something else Yahoo could not get a handle on. I was getting them nearly everyday. PITA
