Startrek is 99.5% right ( It's hard to agree on EVERYTHING) - so Thanks to the people at Yahoo for:
- being FREE
- being easy to use
- hosting images onsite
- NOT following Ebay's lead in things (different is good!)
- NOT being a junkyard for corporate discards
It IS hard to run a good auction site, look at some of the others and you will see how true this is. Whatevers its faults, Yahoo is still doing a real good job!

Agreed Yahoo Auctions is simply outstanding. Free being the keyword but I have had strong sales monthly with the last 2 months being a little bit slow. If Yahoo ever decides to charge, I will still be using it. I am not saying its the best auction house out these but function wise it's pretty darn good.
Too bad we have so many deadbeat bidders & its so easy to create an id in Yahoo Auctions but not complaining too much. Go Yahoo.

Yahoo has been good for me as well and with all the upset on the ebay boards and complaints about it I am looking forword to the incress in bids on our yahoo auctions as the some of there seller and buyer move over and start bidding our auction for the good feed back numbers they had at ebay.
ebay is talking about fee increases and I dont think many could handle another nickle in fees the way the bids there are headed.

I don't think eBay will rise their fees. eBay has started to notice Yahoo Auctions in particular & their rising numbers & free service. A couple of months ago eBay was in talks with Yahoo Auctions.
eBay is very aware of Yahoo's existence because Yahoo has simply stepped up to the plate as an alternate auction site. That's is why eBay wanted banner links for extra cash. Unfortunately for eBay some crybabies at eBay was complaining about it.
eBay will not rise fees because they know if they ever do it, Yahoo is ever willing to pick up the slack. They need to boost income so I have to wonder where all the extra income will come from.

I agree. Yahoo deserves some credit for not
following in ebays footsteps - it looks like that trail is starting to lead alot of sellers into bankruptcy [ red ]
I don't think Yahoo is guilty of too many boneheaded moves, either. "Neighborhood Watch" seems to be dying out. The relist option my only real choice for a genuine "pain". I hope that since Yahoo threw the whiney bidders a bone on that one, they will consider some of the sellers ideas in the future. If you look at the problems on other sites, most of them resulted from a poor understanding of sellers concerns.

We all worship Yahoo for 1 reason alone, its FREE & nothing more. The day they start charging us 5 cents, we will scream bloody murder because a big profitable corporation like Yahoo is trying to make money of us. Honest truth, aren't we all the same. Money for nothing & chicks for free (anyone guess where this line came from)

Yes, I love FREE, we all love FREE, but Yahoo is more than just free to me. It's good, no not just good, great tools to use for business and pleasure.
Sometimes free isn't enough. I just got another annoying email from Netzero saying we want you back. Their free internet access was not good enough for me. Their ad banners annoying and now they keep spamming me to come back. When it comes to internet access I would rather pay for a good service with no ad banners. Even when I choose to use free access, I found a free one I like better than netzero. So I can certainly understand when some people say free is not always enough.
Sure, traffic and bids could be better on Yahoo right now. but I'm still grateful for all the sales I have made and continue to make totally commission free.
Do you Yahoooooo. I do!
