Here is what I have been doing. I still sell in eBay but along with every note that I mail out to my winning bidders, I tell them I sell in Yahoo Auctions too. I also tell them of my web site.
I am getting sick of eBay but most of all all those so called other eBay users who pretend to be eBay policemen. eBay doesn't cancel auctions unless they are reported. Its similar to Neighbourhood Watch in Yahoo where some nosey prick turns you in for what he considers a bad auction except in eBay its your quarter not his.
I suggest you continue to use eBay to provide visibility to your web site (if u have one) or to lead them to Yahoo Auctions. Problem with Yahoo is that its filled with one too many idiots who bid for fun & sellers who don't deliver. One bad apple really just wrecks havoc for the rest of us.

Hey radh, if I am good at html I would be a lot faster making my web site. I think if you are serious about online sales & want to jump to the next level, that's the only way to go. Don't get me wrong, my sales are around $3000-4000 a month with a retail of around $6000/month just using Yahoo & eBay but I believe my business can still grow to a level which I believe I should be.
I am frustrated with eBay & have learned not to rely on them completely. They are a wonderful site for sure, don't get me wrong. Yahoo Auctions is also excellent but what happens when we get an influx of Mr.IKnowAll & then Yahoo will start changing too to attract business operations who wants to clean out the small time sellers.
In the mean time expose Yahoo Auctions to your eBay buyers. If you are serious about Yahooing & if you think there are enough good sellers in Yahoo, then lets make it happen. BTW who is a HTML expert.

Yo, comic123! Over at TOP, in the Riz23 thread of 6-26-2000, someone replied to your comments, and gave you some warnings, cuz one time eBay shut down alla their auctions.

We have several ebay users that come to our Yahoo auctions. There's nothing wrong with putting a link to your yahoo auctions in your EOA emails. Just don't put a link in your Ebay listings. We learned that lesson the hard way. 25 listings closed early.

You are allowed to link to your site, which can link to your Yahoo auctions. Far as I know, this is still allowed.
VeryMOdern: I think that was changed lonnnnnng ago, the page you link your auctions to cannot have links to competing sites, but I'm not sure about the rest of the website, and, really, I'm uncertain of all the details to do with this.

are you sure? I was told that you could link to your site and your site could link to XXX porn and that was fine. Long as it's one step away..

radh I am not saying to link your eBay auctions with a link leading directly to your Yahoo Auctions. All I am saying is when you contact your auction winners, nothing to stop you from saying....'Hey visit my auctions in Yahoo'.
In fact if anyone have found a way to link your site or your Yahoo Auctions account to your eBay auctions let me know. Don't care if its 1 or 3 steps.

This is all I could find in eBay regarding website links in ads:
Users may place a simple link to another web page in the description portion of their listing to help provide more information about the listed item. However, the following links are not permitted:
links to other auction-style trading sites
links to sites offering the same merchandise for the same or lower price
links to sites offering merchandise prohibited on eBay

I have seen sellers with a link to their Yahoo auctions on their "ME" page. They just add it to their "Favorite Links". I belive this is allowed.

kasmoon - if those rules are current, they are the ones I am familiar with and you *can* link to your website and your website can link to anywhere you want.
Ebay's arm only extends 1 click - can only control the links on it's site, not an individuals own website.
