I've had a great week on YAHOO.
Sales averaging over $80.00 per auction. Everything is 1st Bid Wins. All EOA notices have been responded to and some payment already completed thru PayPal. Average views per auction before sale are 8.
Some new items selling despite other identical products available in standard auction format at a lower currant bid level.
It will take more than one week to establish a dependable record, I need to change my focus toward more new, higher end inventory and most dollars are not yet in hand.
Most of my remaining auctions are eBay rejects of low dollar items which means I have to do some heavy listing but I'm encouraged.

I tried the 1st bid wins over the past few day with my auctions that have closed, I relisted 6 this way and within 6 hours 3 of them have sold and they were paid for with paypal

I tried one real auction format this week with truly disappointing results. I did sell the item at its opening bid, but that was at a loss so it's hard to get excited. Back to one-bid wins ONLY for me.

This has been real effective for me too. I think my totals on Yahoo beat out my eBay totals in the last month.

I have never listed on Yahoo before, but I have been using e-bay for about a year. My husband has been checking into yahoo and I think we are going to give it a try.
I'm not sure I understand the first bid wins option. I guess it really is kind iof self explanitory but you can just close the auction after one bid. Sounds like fun to me

Timptech -
When you list your item, if you enter a buy price the same as your opening bid, the auction will automatically close when the first bid for that amount is placed.

Hello all - I am a Yahoo newbie! I'm glad to hear the results of the first bid wins option! Sounds intriguing. I am very fed up with eBay and have found the various options on Yahoo to be very interesting! As my eBay auctions are ending - I am trying to get my customers to come over to Yahoo!
What do you think - this is the paragraph I have tagged on at the end of all my EOA notices for the time being. I realize I am taking a slight risk - but I really want to get buyers over to Yahoo!
"Please forgive the following - but I must express my concerns:
As of late, eBay has become more interested in developing corporate partnerships and has had little time to address site instability, hence many sellers are moving to other auction venues. I would like to alert all my buyers to my partial move to Yahoo! Auctions. Please visit me there at the link found below! If you win one of my auctions on Yahoo! and mention receipt of this letter, I will deduct 20% off your winning bid! Thanks for your continuing support!

Also, for more information on other auction venues - look up the Million Auction March at http://www.millionauctionmarch.com"
So far - a few of my customers have written back asking for more information about Yahoo!
We'll see.....

Does Yahoo allow 1st Bid Wins for a Dutch auction? If allowed, what happens if someone bids the buy price on only one of the items?
I would think an offer of 20% off would get ALL your ebay customers looking at your Yahoo listings!!!!! Be sure you place opening bids high enough to cover your discounts!!!
