I was in dire need of a good image viewer and editor for my graphics and clipart files and just downloaded one today that I am thrilled with. I think this program would be a great help for sellers in editing their images for auctions. It's free and easy to use. If anyone is interested, here is the link.

the best thing about this is that if your scanner software supports a 'scan to application' feature, you can choose to scan directly into irfanview. I typically do that, or just scan to a file and drop the TIF onto irfanview and then save as a .jpg.

How would you guys rate this against Corel Photopaint?? I use that and it's great - but heard great things about Irfanview.

- depends on what you want to do. irfanview only lets you resize, flip and change colors some. no real editing.
BUT - it's very fast and fairly small, so if you just need to look at something, it's much handier. it also handle many different graphics file formats easily. I scan things straight to a TIF file and then go back run them through irfanview to turn the TIFs into JPGs and give them names. It has good jpg compression as well.
And, as I said, if your scanner software allows you to 'scan to application', you can have it scan to irfanview. that usually means fewer steps when scanning, as saving files with iv is just a keystroke. ('S' to be exact.)
