I've been messing around with my ad template forever, and I can't get the decription or the picture or anything else to come up on Yahoo....I don't know why!!!

At eBay, I was using a table format, with the photo in the table. I know from looking around at Yahoo that I had to change that format, so that's no problem. I dropped the table format altogether - but I can still use HTML code for my text, right? And I can use a link for my email address, if they want to email me with questions, can't I? Or are these the things that are making it kerplooey?

I uploaded the picture on Yahoo's submit auction page. I put my description in the description box, I fill out all the handy dandy stuff, but when it brings up the "preview", right before starting the auction, all I get is just the standard stuff at the top of the ad - the description and photo aren't there!!!!

Waaah. I'm going to pick my husband up at work, and then I am going out for fish fry (it's a Wisconsin thang) and while I'm waiting for my fish fry to arrive, I'm gonna have a couple of drinks, which should make me feel much better! So if I don't respond to questions right away, that's why - I'm not here! But I'll be back to see what I'm doing wrong later this evening.

Thanks in advance for help!

It must be a server-type problem. I just checked my active auctions and found out the same thing. There is no description, no picture, no nothing. lovely.

bad timing maddie. wait a day. I listed 20 items last night, no problem.

You'll want to let Yahoo handle the picture - means you no longer have to worry about it. I use a table format as well, and yes, your html will work just fine (although you're better off losing things like backgrounds, etc). One neat thing is the 'customize your auction booth' feature. it also allows you to customize the look of your item pages! so you list like usual, but the item pages use a format you've already defined. check it out.

Are ya'll kidding??? The day I decide to take the dive the site goes kerplooey? Cripes...fine. I'll go give it another shot.

Thanks for the help, all. Unbelieveable. I think I must be a curse....

Kris, I just checked my sales there and they are showing up fine. Mass exodus from ebay lately and I think Yahoo is scrambling to make sure it can handle it (my guess anyway). Dont give up girl.....GO GO GO, lol.

OK - I got three of them up....I am using tables. I dropped the background color. But I still cannot color my text, nor can I change the size of it. I can bold, I can italicize, I can center text, but I can't change the color or font size. What am I missing?

You guys rock - all this patience to help us newcomers to Yahooooo! figure out what the hell we are doing! Especially the thick headed ones like me!

Im having a HECK of a time customizing my booth...keep getting "script error" banner, and following their steps is confusing! I looked at the ones they have as sample pages, but for the life of me, I cant figure out what the heck they are talking about..."must save html on options page", "must save htmo on blah blah...use EDIT FEATURE"....huh?

Well, Maui - when you figure it out, you explain it to me, 'k? I feel like this little guy tonight - bouncing all over the place trying to do too many things at once!

I don't know if this will help anyone (you all probably know alot more than I about computers and web pages etc), but here is how I post a listing in Yahoo:

First I have a cheap program that I bought a couple years ago that helps me make my own web pages. A friend of mine told me it is a WYSIWYG= (WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET). I do my whole page on it except for the pictures. Then I test it to see what it looks like on the web. I then click on "view" at the top of the screen then click on "source" in the drop down box. Then I just copy and paste that into my item description when I list. Presto...color and fonts etc. I use that layout for all auctions that are similar and change size, color, description as needed.

I have to admit sometimes Yahoo changes my fonts slightly but it still looks quality. I don't know maybe it's just my opinion...see what you think. My id is kimsbtq... or click here for all my auctions

http://user.auctions.yahoo.com/user/kimsbtq?

ps: I used it on the larger ticket items like the wedding gowns.
