Its been a long time since I gave Yahoo a try anyway.

I have 35 auctions I want to list in the same category all different.

I listed the first just fine, when I go to list the second and upload the new image I get this error.
ERROR: number of images exceeds maximum of 3.

Can I only upload a total of 3 images for all 35 auctions all though they are all different or am I doing something wrong here.

Can I otherwise just list through Auctionwatch and have my jpegs visible through AW.

I like the idea of being able to upload pictures to Yahoo but if all I can do is 3 then it really limits me.

thanks Adrian

Hi Adrian!

I've been listing multiple items in the same category, all with different images on each. I haven't had a problem so far.

Yes, you can only upload 3 images to an auction, but I believe that an image link in the html is picked up as an image too, as is a counter link.

So watch those buttons for Paypal and such, as they are all part of your 3 image limit.

I have been combining multiple images into 1 big image (ie- 2 or more pics pasted side-by-side), to allow me to use as many of my pics as possible.

Also, if you list via AuctionWatch and use their image hosting, your images will NOT be included in the Yahoo gallery.

Adrian,

You are limited to three pictures per each auction listing. Yahoo will place the first picture at the top of your listing, the second in the center, and the third at the bottom.

If you have three pictures for one auction, you have to upload them one at a time and then click done to continue placing your description with that listing.

After you get 5 feedback ratings you can use their bulk loader. It works great and you can zip all your pictures for one batch of auctions and ftp them to Yahoo. It is a great time saver.

Adrian,

Are you backing up to use the same auction to do the next auction? That doesn't work on Yahoo.

You need to cut and paste the descriptions from auction to auction.

Adrian,

If you're going "back" and using the same "Submitting an Item" page for each new listing, you need to DELETE the uploaded image(s) from the previous listing AND HTML links for any other images that are in your description box BEFORE you upload another photo.

Ways to get more images into your listing:

1) Do as jozi does---gang two or more photos into ONE image in your software before uploading or linking, and they will count as just one image.

2) Write HTML code for the viewer to "click on" to see additional photos (which you have hosted somewhere), something like "CLICK HERE FOR ADDITIONAL VIEWS".

3) Submit your listing with the allowed 3 images (including counters and logos), then under "Manage" click "Edit Auction Description" and write links for additional photos as an amendment.
