I am listing on Yahoo. Part of the items that I listed were items that didn't sell the first time on Ebay. Part of the items that I listed are items that sell like hotcakes on Ebay! I am using 1st bid wins or have a realistic winning bid amount on my items. I am getting some hits, but nothing in bids! I am labbies_attic on yahoo. Any thoughts? Is it because I am new?

I looked at your auctions and they looked very professional. The one thing that may be a problem is that you have no feedback. That scares me to buy from people with no feedback (they may just be me though!) You may want to buy a few things and get a little feedback. I hope that helps! Melanie

Some new sellers at YAHOO have added a statement in their auctions that mentions they are new to Y but have established great feedback at another online auction site and if prospective customers are interested please email for site info. and ID. Works best when both IDs are the same.
Someone also mentioned a free site where you can post all feedbacks and then include a link within your Y listings (name is not in my presently accessed memory bank).
I had 3 1st Bid sales come in late last night. Two had been up less than 36 hours and the third for over 4 months.
I just keep posting, learning and adjusting and it all works out. But I sure don't know exactly why.

Thank you for the thoughts. I did add the link to my Ebay feedback to my later auctions--just in case.
I guess it is just one of those things that one has to work through. Thanks again.

labbie1,
You just say "1st bid" at the end of your titles. At either the beginning or the end of the title, put "FIRST BID WINS!" (without quotes) so it really stands out on the page.
Your circular and oval photos look nice. You only have 6 listings on Yahoo, and that's not enough to judge the bidding level. Steadily list everything you have to sell with "2 times" in the Auto Resubmit box, and forget about it until you get the "Your auction has a winner!" notices from Yahoo.

granee Thanks, but I don't have room in the title to put the whole line. I am listing through Auction Watch Auction Manager and I am using the full space allowed for the title. Yahoo doesn't allow me to change the title after the auction has started. Does Yahoo allow more space than Auction Watch allows in their manager for titles?

its called feedbacksite.com and it creates an icon that ties your feedback from several different sites into one table. You can use it on most sites but ebay would probably not allow you to use it in a ebay auction.

Just wanted to tell you that you are not alone. I have been posting on Yahoo now for two weeks and haven't even received a bite! It is frustrating especially since I only listed a third of my stuff on e-bay and already sold 1 item. I'm hopeful though! Any one want to critique my bids please do!! kevin_sandes on Yahoo.

I agree with Granee. I would seriously recommend putting "1st bid wins" in all your auction titles on Yahoo if you use that format. You really have to spell this out to people, especially since many customers are new to Yahoo also.
I can personally attest that putting "1st bid wins" in your title will make all the difference in the world. When I first started on Yahoo I couldn't turn over anything, even the items that _were_ listed first bid wins, because the name wasn't in the title & people didn't get it. It was AW'ers who pointed out to me that the name needs to be in the title. After I took their advice my sales greatly improved. When the words are right there in your title it grabs people's attention.

Hey Kevin! It looks to me that no feedback may be a problem for you too. Also are your pics hosted by Yahoo? Only a few pics came up when I did a pic only search. I think a lot of people shop that way, so it is important that your pics show up in the Show Only Pictures search. Melanie

Please be sure you are including a note to all your auction winners on other sites that you are now selling on Yahoo, and do the same whenever you answer a question about an item. Let your bidders know that you are listing elsewhere, and maybe they will come to Yahoo and check out what else is available. Also don't forget that most sellers are buyers too, so whenever you communicate with a seller on ebaY - make sure you include a note to them also that you are now selling and buying on VOTEs (venues other than ebaY)!!! Same with sending them questions - put the word out whenever you can. A link to http://www.millionauctionmarch.comwould not hurt either.

Rosalinda,
I have begun signing all of my Ebay auction EOA's with my name at Ebay and the one at Yahoo so they can tell that I am auctioning at Yahoo and the name. I wanted my same name at Yahoo but it was taken, so I had to choose something else. I really WANTED my same name! Darn!
Anyway, I haven't added the MAM link to my EOA's, but I will have to consider that also. I am really trying to help with the switch because I think it can just strengthen the whole system to have more sites that are viable.

Woohooo!! I sold TWO things using the 1st BID WINS! thing and I have TWO bids on items that are not first bid wins! This is giving me incentive to keep trying Yahoo for a while! And both of my winners were quick to pay. One with a MO and the other with PayPal. Can't ask for better than that!
I am glad that I tried Yahoo. I am going to keep trying it! Thanks for the help guys!
