I was thrilled (& amazed) to see, a few minutes ago, that one of the auctions I have up on Yahoo *finally* got a bid. Happy days!

Now, I rarely look at the FB of bidders, but for so reason I clicked on the FB of this one. I thought it would be a quick read as the number after the ID is "3." *GULP* Now I wish I hadn't done it...this person actually has 4 negatives for non-payment with various excuses showing such as "trouble with email" and "changed my server" given in response to the negs. On the other hand, there are 7 positives for *fast* payments. Just peachy.

Five days left in auctions, so I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed. And I was so happy when I first saw that bid...

bunnicula,

I've had bidders with mixed feedback like that pay right away--they really DID have email and/or server trouble (or a death in the family, or illness), and some bidders seem to "pick and choose" which of their winning auctions they'll pay for (on those, sometimes you're lucky and sometimes you're not). It's not worth worrying about---if they pay, fine....if they don't, neg and relist.

I have been selling on yahoo just over a year now and I have a fairly good memory I would rather have a buyer with mixed feed back that has more then likely learned to be faster with payments and trying hard to build up positive feed back.

Then to get a NEW buyer with a email address I recognize as one that has won one of my with a differnet nick and been a dead beat
months ago one of my auctions.

I have sold a few hundered items on yahoo and only had 3 that didnt pay or reply and I had one I could contact there email bounced back to me.

I recently had someone's email bounce right back at me as well.

I left neutral feedback asking the person to contact me within 10 days or I'd be changing the neutral to negative. A day later the person contacted me and paid quick! I then turned his neutral to an Excellent.

I hate it when a wining bidder strings me along for weeks with all kinds of excuses for not paying. I wish they would just say "I changed my mind" right at the begining and let me put the auction up again. I wouldn't even leave negative feedback for them for at least being honest. After being in retail for 8 years I have learned that people change their minds for all sorts of reasons. There is no sense in getting upset over it. But when someone makes me feel like a fool because I gave them the benifit of the doubt over and over again I really get steamed. I have 3 people now who have been giving me excuses for weeks and I hate to leave neg feedback but they really have pushed me up against a wall.

Well, this auction closed last night & I sent the bidder my EOA. This morning it bounced back to me as "Returned mail: service unavailable" This person has email through Yahoo--has it been down does anyone know? I sent the EOA again just now in the hopes that this one will go through...but I'm beginning to have that "uh oh" feeling...

bunny, don't get too much of a knot. worse case is you have to try to sell the item again.

bunnicula,

Leave FEEDBACK for your bidder saying "your email bounces back, please contact me at [email protected] (your email address) if you intend to purchase this item or your bid will be cancelled."

Then give them a day to contact you. If they don't, neg them, blacklist, and relist.

Good luck!
