Has anyone else noticed the auctions are not listed in "closing soon" order? I hope it's just a glitch....I remember what happened the last time I saw this.....

These features have always been there. They just now are moved to one side of the board. They used to be scatterd across the top of the listed items.

I understand that the choices have always been there, but why was the default changed from "Time Left" to whatever it is now (I can't see any logical order in the default now). The problem with this default is that it requires additional effort on the part of the bidder to realize that they are in no order, find the link to change the sort method, and click on it every time they change categories, searches etc. This means that when your auction closes, it can still be on page 63 and never had been seen by anyone because very few people are going to browse throug 63 (or more) pages of auctions that are in absolutely no order. Now, if no one sees your auctions, how many are going to close with bids?
Also, what's even more annoying is the fact that you don't have the links to change the sort order your "My Auctions" page.

I think, (just my opinion), of course. Yahoo! is making chances as they always do, a little at a time. First they changed the bidders view of your auctions, this takes major effort. They may have had to disable the sellers view to do this. They may share the same servers. Then after they make sure it works fine. They will change the seller's view of the auctions.
Probably in a few days, or next week it will all be changed over. And the excitement it is generating now will all be forgotten. Just like when they altered the e-mail programs to add the options to the left hand side. Some got it right away, others got it a little later. Why don't we give them time to complete the program, and see if that is the case again. As per usual.

I can make no sense of the new order of the SELLING page except an auction i just created is now first in the list. Maybe it's "last in, first on the list?"
This SELLING page may be unknown to some as I sense some confusion in this thread. that list can only be seen by the seller and those are his items followed by the amount of the high bid, followed by a link of the name of the high bidder, if any, followed by the time left followed by a direct link to manage that auction.
The page that is adjustable is the same list of auctions but is a list anybody can access just by clicking on any link of the seller's user name. It is adjustable to sort the auctions with the earliest to close appearing first. It doesn't show the same things as the other lost but bb clicking on the individual auctions you can get to the same information. This list will serve your purposes while the SELLING list is jumbled.

I certainly HOPE this isn't Yahoo's FINAL revision of this software change! As it stands, it's HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!
The DEFAULT order on ALL listing pages should be ENDING ORDER, with "earliest to close" FIRST on the list. As it now stands, a prospective bidder would have to click on "Time Left" EVERY TIME HE LOOKS AT A NEW CATEGORY. Frankly, I think the sort by "Photo" and "Title" functions are TOTALLY USELESS, and sort by "Price" and "Bids" are unnecessary.
Thank goodness "keyword" searches come up in ending order. That's one less thing they'll have to fix.

Dman
I resubmitted many ads this afternoon. Since there are 3 diff places you can elect Resub I try alternates whenever there's a problem. I usually pull up the ad & click Resub from the blue line at the top but that kept giving an error all day. Each ad I simply clicked the Resub key inside the pageview box instead & had no problem at all.
I have never tried the Resub on the right side of my closed auctions page so I don't know if that one was working or not.

I hope they fix it soon I hate the scattered look of all the auctions with the dates all over the place. I like to go in and see which ones are ending and casually browse to see what I may want to buy. For now I will refrain from buying on Yahoo, but I am sure they will have it looking like some sort of order in a few days.

I agree with everyone that this is a jumbled mess! It is actually done in order of when the item was first listed. If you look at the Item # on the left, they are in order. I really can't see any advantage to that, I just hope it goes back the way it was. I am glad others have written about it, I thought I had done something wrong, and didn't know how to put it right!!!

I thought it was just me and I was losing what little is left of my mind. Figured somehow I had messed up my Yahoo settings.
It's a relief to find out my last functioning brain cell was not dieing. whew.....
BTW, I agree. It's a jumbled mess. (The listing order, not my brain cell, although that could be in question too.)

It's a jumbled mess alright but here's something I hadn't thought of. When you pay to feature an ad you select your amount based on what position you want. I elected to feature 2 ads today and bid for 3rd place in one category and 10th in another. I assume it's because of the crazy date change but the position my ads show are 6th and 14th. I checked them the minute I set up the feature, it's not a case of someone paying more to bump me down. When paying real $ this is utterly unfair, you pay for higher placement so your thumbnails stay atop the category pages. Unfortunately all I can do is write a complaint. I doubt many have thought to write about feature placement. They are probably receiving so many general 'fix this date change mess' letters they aren't reading emails anymore.

kasmoon,
Do you realize that, on "category listing" pages the "featured" items are at the top of the listings (with jumbled closing dates, just like ALL the listings are when viewed by clicking on a category)....BUT
when you click "Time Left" to sort the list by CLOSING TIME, the entire "featured" section is GONE!!!! and the "featured" items are no longer featured, but are placed in the long listing with all the unfeatured items!!!!!!
This was a BAD TIME to pay to feature anything, and a really, really UNTHOUGHT-OUT MOVE on Yahoo's part.
Thank goodness "search" results all come up listed by closing time, instead of JUMBLED like the category and sellers' "My Auction: Selling" listings do.
Why didn't they do a TEST SITE and email their sellers for OPINIONS before implementing these changes??????

I did not realize the featured ads disappeared when Time Left is clicked. As a bidder though I always look through all the featured ads first before choosing any sort of that category. Now I'll be hoping others do the same.
I know the featured ads have always had jumbled closing times because the order is based on how much the seller is paying. I hope they receive enough complaints to un-jumble the rest of the pages.
"This was a BAD TIME to pay to feature anything". Not really, I had a set of widgets I listed 3 days ago. I figured I'll pay to feature one & put in my descrip "click my other auctions" for the match & they will get equal pageviews. WRONG! The featured one got 78 views plus bids on day 1, the other 0 views. Second day the featured got 105 more pageviews, the other got 1. So I featured the second (same category of course). Day 3 today, first ad is up to 280 views, 2nd 65, both have multi bids. All my other stuff 2-3 views, though a few scattered bids. This really was a test as I rarely bother to feature. Now I see how much it actually helps. Even in the jumbled mess, that's why I featured more stuff today.

kasmoon,
When I said it was a BAD TIME to feature, I meant because the jumbled listings are chaotic and unsettling to people looking at listings pages. Maybe everyone uses "keyword" searches now to find what they want, and the "category" listings pages (which are jumbled) aren't viewed very much anymore. Who knows?
But when you do a "keyword" search, the "featured" items (listed at the top) are in order by closing time, NOT listed (in a jumble) according the amount spent on featuring it. From what I can tell, only "featured" on "category" pages are ranked by amout of the seller's feature bid (I checked one category to see).
If that's the case, and most people browse by "keyword" searches rather than going to "categories", then it pays to FEATURE your item, but it doesn't pay to spend extra to get your item to the TOP of the "featured" section (since that section is ranked by CLOSING TIME on "keyword" search results, anyway, rather than by amount you paid).
I've been getting good page views WITHOUT featuring, but scarce bidding (most are 1st Bid Wins auctions). It sounds like featuring is worthwhile for auctions WITHOUT the "buy price" that you want a lot of bidding on.

Well, it appears they have finally got the selling page back to "time left" order...let's hope they're working on getting the listings back...
