I've been playing around with AuctionTamer and although I can see it is very good, it will not meet my specific needs.

Does anyone know of any other software? I am needing to manage emails, and feedback with *multiple id's* on Yahoo, and ideally other sites as well.

Thanks!

I dont know a another complete package for off total off line am pro is good but you still have to come to there web site forsending Eoas and stuff.

Pssst let me whiper here I find auction rover to be the best management tool auto sends EOAs with shipping cost to winner can print out invoices and they can pay and check out and pay right from the rover link in the EOA

AW is working toword this right now though I havent tried there new stuff in all fairness it might be equail or better.

Edited to add that rover can be set to auto resubmit all Items you list through them if they dont sell even if you forget or dont have time in less then 5 mins a unsucessfull auction will will resubmit. for another up to 2x

auctions are not lauch from there buyer wont get the win bid and shipping added togeather for them and your auctions will not auto resubmit I have said before the lack of the thumb nails hasnt hurt my veiws or sales but to keep some up there I add a photo to some of of these auctions after they are launched.

Note to this the auctions you add photo too wont auto resubmit you will have to resubmit these your self.

but the site also keeps a running total of your winning sales a total value of the items up for bid and if you put info in the your cost each time you list it will keep tabs on your profits over all as well.

the email if you set it up will also Add sales tax you set it up for as well .

I tried a multitude of programs, and found Auction Tamer to be excellent for record keeping, emails, feedback, etc., for Yahoo. Beyond LOVING THE AUCTION TAMER PROGRAM, I love their service. The moment I have had a question and have written them, I have a clear, easy to follow response from The Man Himself, in a short time! Support is fantastic with Auction Tamer, and very important in using any program.

The Auction Assistant, (for eBay) when it was privately owned, had the same type of service. Unfortunately, it was bought out by eBay and the customer service is definitely NOT what it use to be.

Now, for a bulk loader system, I have found nothing! I love AW's program, but the picture problem keeps me from using it. I still submit all my auctions one by one - it is time consuming, but I see no other way. Yahoo's Bulk Loader is cumbersome and actually takes me more time than doing it individually.

VeryModern,

Perhaps questions about a competitor's auction program should be asked in email or on their own q&a board, if they have one

Joice - they don't have one that I am aware of. I thought it was okay to discuss these things but that links were taboo.

For the moment jwpc is the only user I know of who might be able to help, he has indicated that they are familiar with the
software, and so....

This thread is Auction software for YAHOO which I sorely need to find, and it seems to me that I am within limits discussing
usability and features of various programs, yes/no? Besides that - this is SOFTWARE that I am shopping to purchase, not a site competing with AW.

Please advise.

VeryModern,

AuctionWatch.com has products to manage including launching your Yahoo auctions so you are asking questions about a competitive product.

You are within guidelines so long as links are not provided, you are correct.

I was just suggesting you might take detailed quieries to email.

Hope that clarifies,

Hey Joice,
The problem is with AW! Listings do not show the thumbnail for Yahoo only photos! Many folks browse on Yahoo by photos only!

Apicture is worth a thousand words!

I myself have brought this up to AAW support several times and they have not come up with a resolution that I or for all iKnow anyone else has been informed of!

VeryModern
If you have not figured out how to get a thumbnail up on Yahoo when listing using AW let me know?

It takes extra steps, but I can tell you how to do it if interested?

I figured it out on my own, since AW support never gave me a resolution!

I have not told support how to do it! They should be able to figure it out and let us know?

I would imagine it is a matter of time and we will be paying for this service also!

Shades of E-bay a few years ago!

warr,

If you use HTML code for your first image in the description box does that give a thumbnail image on Yahoo?

C'mon, you can tell me

warr - you are right, the lack of thumbnail is a dealbreaker for the Yahoo seller. Thank you for making the offer to share, but I would pass on AW because of their association with Double-click alone. Much rather pay $20 or $30 once for integrity of my information. I am not meaning to be inflammatory - these are my personal feelings on this matter -
ife is better with boundaries.

Joice - I have edited my posts because I have answers to all the questions.

I have been talking to Mike, the creator of Auction Tamer about their system handling multiple ID's since Yahoo put in this 1000 limit - and he tells me it will. I haven't been able to make it totally function yet with more than one ID, but I hope to talk direct to Mike today, and have him walk me through the process. I'll let you know how this goes.

Having a record keeping & e-mail system which will automatically handle all these ID's is very important to me. Auction Tamer has always been the absolute best to work with, and I LOVE their program, it has cut down greatly on our deadbeats by being able to quickly spot non-responsive bidders, etc. and automatically recontacting and dunning them. Most have come through with payments!

Unfortunately, although images included in your HTML ARE counted against the 3-image limit, they do not produce thumbnails.

This would obviously be a good thing to introduce, and it would cut down on Yahoo's bandwidth overhead, so I'm not sure why they don't do it. Technical reasons, probably.

Regarding Tamer, I am finding that you can add auctions from more than 1 id and have them show up in one list, which is nice. However, I have not been able to use any other features with any degree of smoooooth and so at this point it seems I either have to use it for 1 id and work the others manually, or wait for someone to address this need. At the moment, I am waiting for a clue.

I am curious as to why you choose not to use AW, because of its affiliation with double click? :0

Does not using AW's message boards make that sort of an oxymoron?

I have no problem buying sofware! I have several I purchased still sitting on the floppies over the past several years!

Biggest problems I have had with software has been Microsoft, McAfee and AOL!

Auction manager Pro has been the best one I have played with yet! :0

With the exception of no thumbnails with out my extra effort!

That sounds fair! What are the downs of double click, since apparently Auction Manager Pro apparently uses them and are affiliated with AW?

If you choose not to respond here, send me an e-mail!

I have a mac, but all these will work on a pc for sure. Ive been batching on ebay/yahoo since it was introduced and have tried just about every program out there, looking for the perfect utopia.

*EZlister - my choice works for all major sites including yahoo and with database features, you can import/export data, such as sequence urls(images) etc. Posting auctions cant be beat with this, since it combines them if a person buys more then one of your listed items. made for a pc, but can work on a mac with filemaker pro
*auction submit- great program for PC. coming out with yahoo module. nice for batch listing and can delete and relist auctions with a blink of an eye, however post mgmt needs work.
*auction watch-reminds me of a modified auction assistant on steroids. Looks to have a lot of potential. Would like to know if it can extract yahoo emails for invoicing and do multi item invoicing for separate auction listsings(not dutch auctions). Need a mac version as well.

and pop - I assume you lose a thumbnail if you list on Yahoo via EZlister, can you use the software without listing through it ala AuctionTamer and get the best of both worlds? How about mulitple id's? Can it handle them, or is there a possible workaround?

Interesting stuff! Sad but true and what can we do?

I have the same concerns, but we all are numbered! SSN

They even changed our Military service numbers to SSN's!

Do you not post on E-bay anymore?

I was playing around and the cookies I see appearing on E-bay and Yahoo are either pixhost or focalink!

I know double click shows up occasionally, but I am a habitual eater of cookies!

Really like OREO's!

LMK if you find any other good listing stuff?

warr - I do post on Ebay, 1 auction for every 400 or so that go to Yahoo but it is because I prefer Yahoo, not because of cookies. I use "Cookie Pal" and it automatically eats double-click cookies most everywhere including Ebay. You can buy and sell without overriding the program, and Cookie pal is free btw.

I will definitely post here if I find the be all end all Yahoo seller software, thanks for your responses.

Regarding SoftWare

I am a "dyed in the wool" Auction Tamer fan, and yesterday was another reason for my great fondness of this program. With the new Yahoo limit of 1000, I saw I needed to start running a 2nd ID. I knew unless Auction Tamer would handled multiple ID's I'd never be able to keep my selling records straight.

I tried to follow the instructions for using multiple ID's on Auction Tamer, but to no avail. I wrote AT, and Mike explained what to do, but I still couldn't make it work.

I began to feel it was a matter of semantics, and that was exactly what it was.

Auction Tamer has always been immediately available with support, and I finally asked to be able to call and walk through the process and in a minute of talking to them direct, I realized the boo boo I was making and got my second ID worked on to Auction Tamer just fine.

If anyone else is using AT and having problems getting the alternate ID to show the bidders in the "bidder list" where you write e-mails and such, make sure you have:

1. Changed to your alternate ID when you sign on to Yahoo via Auction Tamer
2. When you have the auction that has sold pulled up through that ID, highlight the auction when it moves into the SOLD category, open the bidder list, and hit update! That will do it and will start your list of alternate ID bidders.

Hope this helps some of you who may have had the same problem I was having which was getting the bidders on my alternate ID to appear on the "bidder list" where I could e-mail them.

I LOVE Auction Tamer and their support - they are the best.
