If you cancel someone's bid, can they still leave FB?

If you cancel the bid before the auction closes - no. If you remove them as the winner after the auction closes - yes.

Thank you auctionee. I didn't know how that worked.

I saw some FB from a buyer that had said something to the effect that the seller had cancelled there bid without even bothering to tell them. I just wondered how they were able to leave FB on the seller if their bid had been cancelled.

I just canceled my first auction winner, and didn't know whether they could leave feedback or not - they certainly can.

We have a form letter that a 8 year old could understand, but this gal had an attitude from get go, and wrote asking first one question then another, and ending her letters with comments of "you'd better get back to me fast."

After 3 of these, and I responded politely to each, I've been at this for years, I decided if she had an attitude like this after just winning that she would only become more of a problem later and over an inexpensive item, I just didn't need the hassle, and I canceled her bid and wrote her a note telling her simply that she didn't seem happy, and they we only wish happy winners, and that I felt that it might be best to relieve her of her obligation to purchase.

She left feedback, not too bad, but I don't need to hassle with people like this; and after years I have learned that normally if they start out with an attitude, they usually only get worse. The time it takes to deal with someone like this you can be making more sales, writing more ads, etc.

Dumping a winner such as this is worth the risk of bad feedback.

P.S. I blacklisted her on my "black list" before cancelling her win, so she can't bid in my auctions again, at least under her current ID.
