I am going to post 3 new threads. Yahoo "The Good" for items that you have sold, for more money than ebay, and why you think they sold higher, Yahoo "The bad" items that you sold, that were at or a little less than ebay, Yahoo "The Ugly" No bid items, otr items that sold way below ebay. By sharing this information, we might be able to increase what we should list here, and what we should think about listing, and what we should never think about listing. Ed

The only problem with this concept is that Yahoo doesn't work that way. I have had items that I relisted for 3 months with no bids...then suddenly sold 12 of them in a week. Seems to me that the bidders on Yahoo change on a daily basis, so there's no telling what will sell when or for what price...it just a matter of luck (or fortune telling) that you list it on the day that the right bidders are looking. I don't know if my theory is correct or not, but that seems to be my experience.

I like your intent. I have benefited greatly from the help provided me by users and in particular eBay users.
The "how to" is a bigger problem. Yahoo does not have/encourage the number of active boards that have existed on eBay for years. YAHOO does not have an announcement board nor the channels of communications available at eBay.
Reaching each other is tough. Reaching or hearing from YAHOO is even tougher.
They just do things and even then the changes are not well explained. (See the recent limits/reward program for a good/bad example).
Help each other? - YES. How to might best start with a better communications system. In the mean time we few use the TSZ and here.
The base of users sharing info. must expand to be effective and YAHOO must start a two way communication with their users.

Can you post a link to the selling zone? I haven't been able to find it. Thanks.
By the way, I am finding Yahoo to be more rewarding in many ways than Ebay. Just as the posters here seem to be more 'laid back' than those on the Ebay board, the buyers seem to be more relaxed about things as well.
I post a TOS on Ebay, just a couple of lines. I decided to leave it off on Yahoo just as an experiment. Don't miss it-the buyers pay promptly, are very friendly for the most part, and generally more amiable than so many Ebay buyers. The whole atmosphere at Ebay just seems to be more high pressure, and I am really enjoying Yahoo a lot! And making more money!

yahooo does have the auction message boards I been there it has new buyers and sellers asking questions and getting no answers
yahoo dont lack message boards and announcement boards it lacks a sense of comunity to be there and share there.
yahoo also has many catagory type message boards for clubs now that they added links to these boards they are gaining popularity.
many selers never knew that the veiws and bidders on there auctions can talk to them directly at the time of there bidding if the seller installs yahoo messanger the messnger is connected to every auction you run there.
not many put the fact that yahoo now owns geocities one of the largeset online comunitys on the web and can use geocities web pages in connection to there auctions.
people are just starting to learn that every seller has a personel auction booth they can custumize just for there sales with a different URL to register with search directory and spiders and invite buys to there next weeks auctions or next months listings building excitement for there Items with past buyers.
people moan and groan there is no show photo only thumb nail when they list item from auction watch but they fail to notice that they can up load another photo to yahoo to have one the real benifit to listing on AW is that Item listed from AW end up at the top of AW searches not 36 pages burried in the search like when searching for newly listed items not featured on yahoo.
people have been so busy worring about the differnces in bidding and trying to find the differnces in the price an item makes, they forgot the real difference between them.
1. its free that right no rent you walk away woth 100% of the sale.
because its free they spend less on live services.
2. selling is different because you can run your bussiness your way as a auction a free store with buy prices or as a merchant.
3. if free so they advertize less we dont pay them millions a year to sell so its like real business advertizeing your sales and bussiness are mainly up to you you will get out what you put in to it.
take a good look at yahoo the people who run there auctions like a individual business are the winners there .
ebay is like a big department store and each item or small group of items has a salemen there trying to pitch why there book with the same title is better then the other guy with the same book.
yahoo each seller is a store the one who have the nice display and avdvertizments gets the sales.
on yahoo one seller is a hallmark store one might be a computer store one antique store.
another a coin dealer.
the average yahoo seller isnt concerning him self with another sellers sales not the one makeing out very well, and there are many who are.
the average seller is not acuseing the guy next door of shilling or trying to dodge FVFs buy chargeing high shipping and handleing fees infact thereare many who offer free shipping or deals that can lead to free shipping like buy three items get free shipping
yahoo is very different from ebay to make it and your sales better stop asking other if they make more on there kewpee dolls on yahoo or ebay and how many item get more then one bid on yahoo
if you want to do better ask your self am I a collectable card dealer, a antique glass dealer selling china carnival glass bottles and such, am I a antique dealer dealing in old books magazines and advertizeing. foucus is on you not yahoo or ebay.
ask your self who you are aiming at who is your buyer. would spending $200 on a local radio station for a few 20 or 30 second ads locally ads to let local people know where your virtual but invisable to most the world is located get you some of the sales you want.
how about some low cost mass mrketing get your and in the back of a few good widely circulated magazines is your sales motor cycle parts and collectable would a small clssifide in a cycle magazine get you some eyes you need for sales.
maybe you want to auction item from an astate sale how about your local advertizer and news paper under local auctions.
on ebay, ebay is the only business that matters there sucess is job one not sellers so ebay blow its own horn on yahoo you are the business just like if you opened a coffee or pizza shop in in town it you who must get the word out word of mouth is the best but you need the mouths to spread the word frist.

I knew this would happen. What did I say several months ago... I am skeptical about whenever users start trying to organize a revolution because it really fit their needs then a group. I really wish the old Yahoo users would still come in once in awhile & back me up on this because we had this way back when Yahoo Auctions was considered taboo.
Remember the 'Reserve' fees fiasco at eBay. Do you really know why eBay started the fees?. Its because some eBayers got tired of the 1 cent starting price & high reserve. So they continously flood eBay asking eBay for some form of fees to deter sellers from starting an auction at 1 cent with a high reserve. (What's the point of having an auction then). Then we have this group of users on eBay who patrol eBay & report to ebay every adult auction they find that isn't listed in the adult category.
You want to know why eBay cancels your auctions for every minor infraction...I can even list the name of each of these so called eBay PC users & you talk to them everyday (& they get your auctions canceled everyday too).
Hey I am having great success at Yahoo Auctions & eBay and the only issue I want to fight for is a seach function for all auctions be they adult or not. Now not saying that I sell or buy adult material...its my business. So who is going to join my unholy or holy crusade, thought so. Everyone has their own agenda & most unfortunately your continous improvement on eBay has lead to most of us leaving eBay.

I believe I'm pretty much sold on Yahoo! I had to take my hubby to the airport this morning (50 miles) so I took the entire day off to go to estate sales. There were 5 in town and I came home with the pickup loaded down.
As I was driving home with my diet coke and chocolate bar lunch, I started sorting things out in my mind-what to ebay, yahoo, or mall. I realized that nearly everything ended up going to Yahoo! The only things that didn't were the things that there's not a category for at Yahoo-those went to Ebay just because I knew where to list them on ebay!
I do first bid wins sales, and I've gotten addicted to checking my email and finding another sale or two every time! Especially when nothing happens on Ebay auctions til the last day! This is a whole lot more fun!
