Why not? the Yahoobots have cut my # of auctions (and income) by 2/3.

Now I hear tomorrow they are giving the boot to all my customers who aren't credit card verified. Even the ones with a history of good feedback. Since I have a lot of low priced books, videos, games, etc. I know that's going to hurt me bad. Yet about 60%% of my sales have lately been with Paypal (or Bidpay for international sales). Of the other 40%, I'm going to lose a lot of them to the new rules.

So why not just add another phrase after '1st Bid Wins' to the title line: "PAYPAL ONLY"? Sure I'll lose some more sales, but what the heck, that's nothing new. It would sure make life easier not dealing with snail mail. And you could give them a week or less to pay or else relist. The vast majority of buyers are not registered with somebody else's CC (are they)? So they will get their arm twisted a bit to sign up with Paypal. I can't imagine anybody regretting having a Paypal account.

Anybody with me out there?

I have always felt that you should do everything possible to attract buyers. Since you feel that Y! is going to cost you buyers, you want to cut them down even further. There are folks who (believe it or not) don't want to use Paypal. They want to pay by achex, ecount, paydirect, payplace, check, money order and one even sent cash in the mail. I won't limit the payments I'll accept for no particular reason. If the service is free and the payment reasonably quick, why not take it?

the credit card verification will slow sales at yahoo prolly for a month which is very sad concidering the month were talking here but they will pick right back up.

people will indeed see what a good Idea this really is and I exspect ebay will in short time be doing the same it has it good side and bad bad the bad and the good sound about the same the good side is they are takeing a more active roll in trying to help buyer with deadbeats and frauds.

the bad side is they are takeing more control what use to be run mainly by seller poilcys and TOS will now be run partly by tighter yahoo TOS control.

I dont see any benifit to hurting sales more then CC verfication for all buyer will already do. going to paypal only at this time I think togeather with new yahoo rules is a goal for failur.
many will be upset and insulted enough just with the one change but the two changes could make bid bay or golds biger then yahoo and ebay put togeather.

I have in all new auction started removeing the personal check option on all new auctions though there is so many other ways to pay online and off line now money order cashier checks paypal bid pay yahoo direct ebay CC service x.com and so on that most can find a way to pay with out the personal check option and for them who cant I will take cash for smaller bids.

Sure go ahead but plan on losing some sales. I have a papypal account but I like Paydirect better so I am phasing out the paypal and I know longer plan to use it to buy at all, so I skip right over paypal only auctions. So, go ahead and save me a few bucks : )

I don't use PayPal, so if you do that you can count on it that I won't ever bid on your auctions.

I really think, given the "new and improved value rich" PAYpal and the climate in that corner, taking only PAYpal would be a tremendous mistake. JMHO
