If you ask me, searching completed items on Yahoo sheds an entirely new light on the entire site. Many people have mentioned (in the Ebay outlook) that when you browse through the items for sale on Yahoo, not much has bids, & not much seems to be selling. I admit that that was my perception at first also.
Now that we can search completed items, the myth has been completely destroyed! At least in my opinion. I was astounded today at some of the prices Yahoo sellers are realizing for their merchandise.
People, the site's NOT "dead" and stuff is definitely changing hands in a major way on Yahoo! If it wasn't obvious before, it sure is now!!!!

When sales started tapering off on ebay a little over a year ago I moved all my auctions to Yahoo. My items sell for more and no fees. The typical response I get from the ebay crowd is "Yeah right, I've seen all the items with no bids on Yahoo". This is true but my items still sell for more on Yahoo and I save the $300 to $350 per month in fees (approx. 20% of my profits). As long as ebay is the biggest auction site the ebay crowd will believe that's the place to be.
Most people were born to be victims.

I'm glad to see some positive remarks. The gloom and doom about CC verification is overdone. I don't believe it has impacted sales at all. Those complaining, are blaming the CC for their slow sales. Maybe they need to look at other possibilities. My sales haven't been affected at all by CC verification. The only problem I have now is deadbeats messing with my auctions, with Yahoo's help.

Not to bust a bubble, BUT searching closed auctions on Yahoo yields ONLY the ones that sold! At first I was amazed too, every single item had a sell! Then I realized NO actually that is all that shows up in the closed auction, so there is STILL no way to compare ratio of offered/to sold. You CAN however, get a feel for what an item will sell for IF IT SELL!

You're not busting any bubbles- that only makes sense (it was obvious to me anyway) since if an item doesn't sell it will most likely be relisted immediately, and you'd see it listed under pending auctions, not closed ones.
The point I was making is that when you search closed auctions there's a LOT of sold stuff there- NOT "nothing" as many ebay sellers are so convinced. AND in a lot of the closed auctions, the merchandise has sold at prices that are more than fair, at least that was my observation.
