Do you have to send that Yahoo Pay Direct thingee at the end of an auction to be paid that way?

I have had a some auctions end and that is an option. I have not clicked on send the 'invoice'. I have just stated my accepted forms of payment in my EOA email.

I don't want people to think that they have to pay with Pay Direct. I just want them to know it is an option if they want to.

Since I have never had anyone use it before, and I have not used it as yet, could someone please help me on this one?

Thanks!

You do not need to send an invoice. I just mention in my EOA that payment can be made via Paydirect for shipping the next day. That's usually enough. If the person wants to use but has any trouble, or is confused, then I offer to send a "request".

As an aside, I think it was CAgrrl that had the brilliant idea of sending DEADBEATS a Paydirect invoice, and I have started doing this. If no response for 10 day or so, I then go in an send a paydirect bill because it is so easy - last ditch effort before leaving a neg and moving on.

Not a bad idea VM.

I haven't had many sales since this credit card thing took effect.(but then I don't ever get a lot of traffic at yahoo anyway) But the ones I have sold to have been great. One of them emailed me so fast that I at first I thought the EOA and their email to me crossed in the email world, but no, they just answered me that fast!

Maybe this will work out in end for all of us. I hope so.

I use PAYDIRECT, but with every auction I pray no one will ask to use it - it is a pain in the derrière compared to PAYPAL....I HATE PAYDIRECT, it takes forever to walk through the stupid system, request funds, accept funds, etc. I don't want to "request" funds, and I don't want to have to go in and accept funds. The whole thing is stupid, and if my customers ask, I strongly encourage them to use PAYPAL....

PAYDIRECT is for the birds, takes too much time to jump through all their hoops, and it is un-necessary.

I prefer Paydirect.
I click the link in the email and have my money accepted and credited back to my card or my checking account in 20 or 30 seconds. It may be that I have cable, but I don't know what pain you are talking about jwpc.

PayDirect was difficult for me to figure out at the beginning. I understand it now, but prefer PayPal or Amazon 1-click because they are easier to use.

Just when I think I understand Yahoo Direct, something happens - a link does not respond properly or I get a mysterious e-mail concerning PayDirect.

Yesterday a winning bidder sent me an e-mail that I had cancelled the auction and that they were to contact me for further information. Although YAHOO did not include the auction number with this mysterious message, I was able to determine that this cancelled auction was an auction that I had been paid for and the item shipped. I determined this from the e-mail address of the winner.

First, I knew I had not cancelled any auctions, particularly one that was complete. Second, I was not even on the computer any time around the time YAHOO stated the cancellation notice originated.

So, I e-mailed YAHOO PayDirect & sent a clipped copy of the e-mail that was sent to my winning bidder. YAHOO responded the next day that I had to provide a list of items to YAHOO so they could find out what happened - everything from VISA to my date of birth. They even requested a clipped copy of the e-mail that my winning bidder received, which they already had because I had sent it with my original request.

I prefer not to provide so much personal information thru regular e-mails, so I guess I will never know why YAHOO PayDirect notified my winning bidder that I had cancelled an auction, that was complete.

I am sorry - I just don't get it.

Someone pays you and Yahoo sends you an email within 5 seconds. It is about 3 sentences long, says you have money and it has a link.

Click the link, put in your security key, and you will see the payment.

Click ACCEPT and the money is yours

Click MOVE MONEY and select "from paydirect" to "Visa #XXXXX" and the money is really yours.

All of this takes 10 seconds. TEN seconds!
How could it possibly be easier?

I love Yahoo Pay direct. When an auction closes, I go to it and click on it and send to customer, along with a personal e mail separately. And it's really working great for getting customer to pay, so simple from the closed auction, bim bam and it's done.
As far as moving the monies, that's just as fast for me...
I want all customers to use it, only way to go. Only way.

justjoan Have you had any negative response to your request to use PayDirect?

I just remember when people were doing that with PayPal that people got a tad upset over feeling "forced" to use the service.

labbie1- NO not one single negative on using it..This isn't like pay pal when everybody was or still is trying to make some bucks to sign people on.
And they just pay and go on their way.
Heck most of them don't even e mail me, I just get the message you have money !
Nicest e mail a person can get RIGHT !

justjoan--Sounds GREAT! I may have to try that.

You just send a request for money right?

labbie1- You got it, just click on the bill yahoo direct in yourclosed auction, and it comes up with the amount won and auction number, even gives you the state the person is in, so you know if you have to add sales tax. I just punch in the shipping costs, and add a little note after the auction number and click send...sweet and simple...
Nothing could be finer.

Very Modern--

My first contact with PayDirect payment was the ACCEPT button did not work. After clicking on it several times, I clicked on every link and looked at every instruction. I finally figured I did not know how to use PayDirect.

The next day, I decided to try again. I clicked on Accept and everything worked fine.

You were very lucky everything went so well for you your first time.

Also, obviously you have not had a winning bidder send you an e-mail that originated with PayDirect that notified the winner that the seller had cancelled the auction, and the winner was to contact you for the reason.
I have not cancelled an auction, and don't have a clue why the PayDirect message was sent.

Probably, I am not the only person who has experienced these problems, but despite the glitches, I like PayDirect and highly recommend it!

Thanks labbie.
Actually I asked for a lurking pal who put me on ignore and did not know how she did it, or how to undo. Since it has never even occured to me to put someone on ignore I was baffled too. I am sure she'll see this, thanks for advising.

VM--with friends like that...

Hi lurking friend.

Actually, I haven't put anyone on ignore until today with the kids over on Ebay Outlook. I found out that if you click on the "click here" thing that you see, it takes them off of ignore automatically and if you wish you didn't look, you have to put them on ignore again. LOL

yeah labbie - I admit it hurt my feelings.
I am not exactly rational.

It occurred to me that I was perhaps the MOST ignored AW poster in history or something and completely oblivious.

Hi Pal

Okay, you should see a line with a VeryModern post and in the message area this:
"You are currently ignoring posts from VeryModern. Click here to view them."

The "click here" is a clickable link. Click that and VM will show up.

Ah So I'm not completely a babbling bitty.
I saw that the other day on one of her posts that's how I discovered that they were being ignored, but I did click the Click Here, and got the messages.
STRANGE that it ever happened anyway.
Appreciate quick reply...
Hows Yahoo Direct going for you..
I had a big sale of 25 different auctions and e mailed the person on one of them to pay for all and it worked like a charm.

I just received a payment last night through PayDirect for a Yahoo auction. SMOOTH! I really LOVE that!

They won the item, paid me within 5 minutes and I left feedback and shipped this morning. I LOVE it!

BTW, to put a person on ignore, you click on their name when they posted which will take you to their info. There is a link which says "ignore". When you click that, you won't see any messages from them anymore.

So, can you see VM now?

Love the fast responses folks.
Wish some customers would be that fast.

Bravo on the payment, isn't it sweet to have it so fast and easy.
